Re: [wingozone] jumping in Nepal??

I didn't have th chance to explore it but does any one have any bata on a cliff in the annapurna ragion near a town starting with C? I didn't have the chance to treck back on the other side of the river around the base or explore the exit point.
I'll try to post a pick when I find it, five four gig cards full of pictures.

Re: [wingozone] jumping in Nepal??
I visit Nepal regularly over the last 18 years and have just returned from my last trip there. Iwill be moving to Pokhara next July full time to start my new job. I also paraglide and BASE jump (more the latter than former).

For a country with the highest mountains in the world there is very little to jump off. There is a specially built bridge over the Bhote Khosi river for bungee jumping - contact "The last resort" in Kathmandu. Landing is tight & gnarly (except if you're Aussie!).

You will find plenty of paragliders willing to take you up for a jump - all you need is your rig. Contact any of the tandem pilots at Frontiers paragliding - they all know me and are the best in Pokhara. You also land next to the lake outside Mayadevi which has a great little restaurant and bar.

Alternatively you can jump out of an ultralight - great for wingsuit flights over the lake. For this contact Avia Club, they have an office on Lakeside in Pokhara. You will need a copy of your skydiving license and of your insurance but then you're good to go.

From early January there will be a hot air balloon (which got up to 5,500m on it's maiden flight in September) which will be happy to throw you out. For this contact Graham through Frontiers paragliding.

Re: [RiggerLee] jumping in Nepal??
Yes I have seen this cliff too. If it's the same one I am thinking of it has a grass helipad over the river that would be a perfect landing area. It's on the anap circuit about 2200 meters ish. Near c...

Looks like exit point would be a go from most of that cliff edge.

Re: [RiggerLee] jumping in Nepal??
they let one guy jump this bungee bridge and said they would never do it again, don't try to do it on your own, you need a bunch of people scattered down the river if you end up in it and landing area is mega technical
