"New Packing Video"
Okay, its been a year and a week since Jesse Hall's Packing video made its way into the world. So, I am curious to what people still think. Has anyone made the 'switch' from one way to "jesse's way'?

Has anyone packed SU with this pack job? How'd it go?

Thanks

Re: [gauleyguide] "New Packing Video"
I made the switch. It's only been about 7 pack jobs/jumps and so far they have been all smooth, fast pressurization, and always within a few degrees on heading openings. I jumped this pack job at Bridge Day too, slider up, and with the less than 3 second delays it was usually a drastic (maybe 90-180 degrees) off heading opening (lack of speed. should have taken the slider off but i was lazy and wanted to get 4 jumps in) But my one 5-6 second delay was beautifully on heading. Hope this helps. It's also neater and gives you a softer upper part of the container as there are no "rabbit ears" to tuck in. There is a full length section on slider down/off packing and then there is another section for slider-up differences. Also is a menu explaining different parts of the rig and small rigging info. like hooking up toggles, slider, and some other stuff, I forget. Great DVD. All pack-jobs work.

Only have 50 jumps right now so my opinion might not go as far, but first 20 were with a pro pack, last 30 with Jesse's flat pack. I've had one significant off heading, that was body position error/uneven riser loading error with the flat pack. Cannot say the same for the pro pack. I agree with the previous post, closing the container is much neater. Lot of people I talk to don't like this because they think it takes longer. All pack jobs works, it's putting less variables in every jump. It's neater and once you get it down it's just as fast as any pro pack. Overall, I definitely recommend it

Re: [jjrise] "New Packing Video"
I have about 110ish jumps now. About 10 of them were with the "over the shoulder" type of pro-pack and the remaining 100ish were with Jesse Hall's Flat Pro Pack. Of those 100ish jumps I've had about 5% were off heading... and most of those were because of shittaaay body position. I've recommended his video to a couple of newer jumpers and every once in a while I go back and watch it again to brush up and make sure I'm not forgetting anything. I'm sure there will be people that get great openings with both types of packjobs, and there will be people out there that can't pack an on heading opening to save their life. For me, I've had pretty good luck/performance from Jesse's method, and for some reason I just prefer it over the other ways. I feel like I can make a neater pack job much more quickly using the flat pro pack. But that's just me. :)

i'm not sure why Jesse's method would be slower then a pro pack unless you're new. i avg 12-15min for a clean pack job with his "method" and have great heading performance and soft openings. between this pack job and a seven, slider up openings are like jumping into a pile of pillows.
i'd highly recommend this video to newbies learning to pack. it's clean, easy and consistent.

i will never fuckin waste another second pro packing over my shoulder again. by the time i set that old packjob on the ground the propack way, i would already be dressing the inner folds and getting ready to set the tailgate on the packjob i use now. props to jesse and exitpointproductions

Re: [gauleyguide] "New Packing Video"
I switched over to it and have yet to have an off-heading terminal or subterminal in the last 30-40 jumps. I can do this PJ twice as fast as a pro stack and it ends up much cleaner.

I jumped your pack job, SD, yesterday morning. Its kinda hard to tell with just one jump, but the amount of time it took me to pack it was quicker. I like it.
