Man with parachute rescued from S*********h B****s
A 26-year-old Toronto man will not be facing charges after he was rescued from the edge of the S*********h B****s Saturday, Nov. 13, in what appears to be a stunt gone wrong.

According to police, the man was attempting a base jump from the B****s when his parachute got caught on one of the peaks.

The jump left the man suspended about 60 metres from the base of the B****s.

No injuries were reported.

Found this http://www.thestar.com/...f-scarborough-bluffs and even though it speaks about BASE jump the equipment in the picture looks more like a paraglider to me.

No...that appears to me as a PARASAIL.... TongueLaugh
(reading the comments)

Hell yea... its indeed a paraglider.

will not be facing charges as there is nothing in the criminal code that applies to the incident.

Paragliding is NOT illegal in Canada, right?! Strange to see them talking about charges. And the stupid association of 'BASE jump' to this paragliding activity gone wrong.

I'm not sure we should get too far away from it. One night I landed right in front of cop car that came around the corner just as I was landing in the street after a building jump. The, "I was paragliding, officer, and had to land here after running out of altitude," got me off the hook. After that I even took to wearing a paragliding tee-shirt to further complete the illusion.

I know that's not quite fair to our paragliding brothers, but if it's that rather than spending a night in the can, oh well . . .
