Beggining
Hello everyone. Is APEX FLiK a good parachute to begin jumping with? If it's not, what's the best one for begginers?

Re: [gecko1] Beggining
I jumped a flik, and it's a great docile canopy with quick openings. But I don't have the experience to say it's better than anything else.

With a little research you can find out which one would best suited for what you plan on jumping.

I jump a Blackjack 280 and so far it has been a great canopy to start on but as I am sure you will get told from other more experinced jumpers get what ever canopy your mentor recomends.

dude, seriously ?

all current stuff is good. None of it is "the best". You may be new to BASE, but you shouldn't be new to flying a canopy - thus a docile square 7 cell should do you well, especially if you do as many practice jumps as possible (DZ, or really easy objects).

I jump a flik, so do alot of people, any base specific canopy from a reputable manufacturer is a good choice. Pretty much the only thing you should avoid are reserves converted into BASE canopies, not that there is anything wrong with them, people still sew tail pockets onto raven reserves & jump them, there is just no reason to go that route when you have BASE specific gear now a days.
