Morpheus Genesis and Atair OSP
Hi everyone,

I am gathering some piece of information about thoses two gears :
- the Genesis container by Morpheus
- the OSP canopy by Atair

Do you have some feed back about them ?

I'd also like to know if velcro rig provide real advantage for subterminal jumps (and particularly slider off) compared to pin rig ? Time to open ? Off heading influence ?

Thanks,
Julien

In terms of velcro vs pin, there are plenty of topics on these forums discussing such.

Generally rule of thumb is to get a velcro rig for subterminals until you know what you are doing. They are much easier to pack and harder to mess up.

Good luck searching around the site!

that rule of thumb is about as dated as direct bag deployment !

"They are much easier to pack and harder to mess up" - aside from forgetting a pullup cord in the closing loop I find 2pinners quite easy too. Plus it's either closed or not, as opposed to the various "almost open" stages of peeling velcro.. YMMV
Cruious, you ever pack a velcro rig cheekybastard ?

While there's nothing wrong with velcro rigs, the Genesis is a "new generation" Velcro rig, with reversible flap and some other "new to velcro" features.

I suggest the OP emails Kathy @ Morpheus and gets the info straight from the source.

I was more referring to packing as a whole. It's alot easier to mess up your pack job trying to close a pin rig than velcro. In terms of keeping the pack job symmetrical n shit.

Yes, I have packed velcro. I personally don't like it, because I like being cool with a 2 pin.

velcro is gay. it wears out and takes thread to replace.

pins, however, are shiny and cool. only things that wear out are closing loops. takes a knot and about 30seconds to replace.

easiest rig to pack, is the first one you own and learn how to use, or any rig after you've packed 1000 times in multiple rigs.Tongue

Thank you for your advices.
I don't think I'll get a velcro rig since it doesn't seem to provide enough advantages compared to pins.

What about the OSP ? Has anyone tried it ?
