DFW area intro
I've lurked and observed for a bit, wandered through years of archives on this forum. I've seen Dallas mentioned a few times. I'd like to meet some people in the DFW area for some Beer/Whiskey/Jager. I've recently registered here (and at DZ.com) with the same user name. PM me or reply in this thread. (I've registered at blinc with the same user name as well)

Is the community in DFW so closed they don't want to acknowledge the possibility that new people might want seek mentors?

If anyone does reply I'm sure it will be the usual ask around your DZ etc, so why don't you try that? You might also get the "BASE jumpers don't owe you anything" which is very true. So don't expect that BASE jumpers have to respond to your post or meet up with you. Count yourself lucky and be very grateful if they do.

It's only been three days. Be patient.

Realize that Base Jumpers are like everybody else and are probably busy working or taking care of their families and don't live on the internet waiting to answer a question.

Or, they are out jumping and snorting coke off of a tranny hooker's ass and can't be bothered with the likes of you. Wink

But seriously, be patient.

You say that like BASE jumpers are going to crawl off that trany ass, come down off that building, and hide the polaroids and coke, and jump for joy that someone wants to be mentored. Why I bet fights even break out between 'mentors' because they can't agree on who gets to grab you by the horns and skull fuck you untill you are ready to jump...

You seem like you expected someone to jump right up and take you in. 'Mentors' are not used car salesman, No one is going to walk you through this holding your hand. Your expectations are too high. People on here expect more from you. Like at least if not one of the most important aspects of BASE, its called 'patience' If you have been lurking and reading like you say, you would have discovered that.

Can I call you BIll? Good, Bill, I wish you the best of luck. I and everyone else on here/well, most, know what its like to start out new/some have forgotten, but even that isnt enough motivation to take someone out and watch them die.

It is good that you introduced yourself. Now, start re-reading and doing some leg/finger work and find some jumpers in your area like your DZ and exercise patience. I spent an entire day hiding, lieing, running thru the woods, testing the four wheel drive on my pathfinder, I even ended up in a hardware store with some local residents that found me trespassing, my jumping partner had to camp out on the side of a bridge for an hour yesterday while I bullshited my way out of trouble, long enough to get to the exit only to be turned around by bad winds. In the end, no one knew we were there to jump.

Patience.

I trolled my own thread, sorry folks. Unsure The responses were admirable, frankly, I was dumbfounded by all the input.

You can call me what ever you want gauley, but I've never heard of a 'good' Bill, and I've never understood why the 23rd letter of the alphabet somehow gets substituted with the 2nd letter of the alphabet.

Thanks folks, I'll keep patiently lurking, reading and rereading. :-) And I'll try not to troll my own thread again... Wink Snortin lines off a tranny's ass sounds enticing, a good bump is always welcome.
