Anyone have any experience with this canopy? Apex's websight says it's for low jumps and not to be used as an all around canopy. Just curious what they did to make this one different?
Shorter lines, ZP front and 5 oversized vents. Built to open fast at low speeds which might end up being too hard on longer delays. Hence the not suited as an all round canopy.
If you jump sub 200' or static line a bunch its an awesome canopy. The over all flight characteristics are better then the flik. Out fly and out float. Don't know why but it does. Flown it quite a bit and loved it. The only canopy I have found to be able to sit in 3/4 brakes and be able to sink it all the way to the ground and tip toe the landing in no winds. Never took it longer then a second. Very noticeable difference in opening heights for the shorter lines. blah blah yes I like it.
No I wouldn't say that. The XS is essentially a FOX that has been modded to pressurize faster. The OSP has been designed from the ground up for slider down jumping and so has a range of features to improve not only opennings but also slow flight performance/stability and flare power.

what you said in the black underlined area is NOT true at all.
ihave over 100 BASE jumps and equal if not lmore skyjumps on Foxs'
and more numbers on FLiKs, and the FLiKs forward speed and glide are much more than the Fox.
now a Fox with a ZP nose is going to have and an enhanced Glide and Flare for sure.
i personaly come close to missing landing areas on Foxs and Mojos' and refuse to jump both and longshot jumps where you have to fly over lots of stuff to make the landing, and rather be on a FLiK or preferably and ACE to make it back. they both have that much more Glide and forward speed,,, period. espeacially tthe ACE
and thats from personal experience.
disagree if ya want
the Fox is best for Urban tight area jumping,, its a great sinker and a more docile slower canopy,,
ive used it (the Fox-and Mojo) on WS/tracking jumps and it was fine, but again some of the time i wished i had my Flik or Ace... i have personally found the non ZP nose Ace to out fly the FLiK with zp nose same wingloading, same size canopy, unvented, etc (me) . like both---- prefer ACE.
i dont dislike the Fox(or mojo) i just think the Glide is not apropriate for some "alpine" crosscuntry jumps is all, hell i wish theyed still make the Mojo. id get one for urban stuff, (i think-if had extra $$$$)'
