Intro
Hey guys No real point to this post, other than to introduce myself.
I've been posting on dz.com since I started skydiving not long ago and have been lurking here for just as long - figured its about time to say hey.
Just a bit of brief history - My name is Steve, 22yrs young from little old New Zealand. I've spent my entire life riding motorcycles. From age 15 to 21 I rode Freestyle Motocross professionally getting paid good dollars to do shows all over the country, rode with the Crusty Demons, was the first in my country to attempt a 450cc backflip, broke a World Record, broke 10 bones within those 6 years and generally had the time of my life. Picked up some large industry sponsors and was busting my butt living the dream.
When I turned 21 I realised there was more to life than riding bikes which Id been doing since I was 4, and more or less then and there I officially retired from Freestyle Motocross, sold my sponsor bikes and gear and havent really touched a bike since.
Finally having spare time and cash I got stuck into AFF as skydiving had captured my imagination the same way bikes used too. Ive got a swagger of excuses for only having clocked up 40 jumps since then but im loving every second of it and now that Spring has finally hit im looking to waste a whole lot more coin on it this season.
BASE is a target for the future for sure but is not the reason im skydiving. I have no number of jumps in mind to get to before I start pursuing BASE, I figure I will know when I am ready and talk more seriously to my BASE buddies at the dz at that time.
In the mean time im looking to get more involved in the community and I figured this was a good step.
So hey, Im Steve, I love your sport, and im jealous that you can do it and I cant.
Ive attached a pic of what I used to do for any one who doesnt know what fmx is.
Look forward to running in to some of you along the way.
Steve
