Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
Do jumpers use them and are they affective in jamming the security cameras long enough to get to the exit point. Ive found a few that are fairly priced. Chinavasion.com Any info would be great.

your first post?
no profile filled out?

you might want to fill out your profile and introduce yourself. I assume using these jammers might be questionable from a legal standpoint.

who knows if you are LEO, a reporter, etc. who really doesn't need to know the answer?

(for the record, I didn't know they exist.Tongue)

Re: [Phantomjumper] Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
The answer is no. Since BASE jumpers only jump legal objects they dont need them.

Must be those ' Hollywood movie ' Ninja Security Camera Jamming devices that he saw being used while watching an episode of Burn Notice ?

Im not law enforcment. I would really like to know if they are used. The only reason i have one post is because all i do is read. What would it matter anyway if i was a cop.

By the way they do exist and they do work i just dont know how well they work. I dont understand why you guys have to be dickholes about a simple question. Havent you guys ever come to a situation where you cameras are a huge issue. O yeah i forgot you only do "legal" jumps.
Shortcut
Re: [Phantomjumper] Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
How well they work depends on the method of operation of that specific jammer, its effectiveness in general, the type of camera in use and a host of other factors.

I don't know why cameras would be a huge problem anyway. If you don't want them to see your face, a helmet will help and be a good move anyway. If they're being actively monitored, then surely they'll figure something's up when their cameras go nuts.
I can't see them being all that useful, but what would I know, eh?

And for the record, breaking the law is against the law. Angelic

That would have to be One HOLY FUCKING GRAIL of a BASE Object wanting to be jumped to purchase, train & equip. my ground-crew with radio frequency jammers for remote security camera's. But in my world, BASE jumping is Mission Impossible & I do imagine that I am ' Tom Cruise ' making stealth Break-ins. Then as my extraction choice from it I do a BASE Jump.

WTF ???? just when you think you been asked it all. Sure as shit, There is a question that bumps and crushes my all time List & #1 stupid question to, #2 Runner-up position .

you said you have been reading a lot.
if so, why are you surprised by the response?

do you go on forums and ask women if they have silicone implants? ShockedTongue

Check list:

have base object camera jammer, half a tank of gas, a pack of cigarettes, a didgeridoo, a gorilla mask, 3 martian meteorites, swim fins, a small satellite, a Russian SKS with an 8 inch boyonette, lubricant, and a suitcase full of narcotics that would be more offensive than even a terrorist attack, so let's hit the road, man!

Re: [460] Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
you forgot to add a vuvuzela from world cup fame to your check list. If being caught is an imminent threat, just start playing that annoying thing and watch the guards flee... Tongue

i like the idea (i see a few dont!)

if you are avoiding a 5k trespassing fee in a country with only man made structures to jump (cough cough Australia) it sounds like a brilliant idea.

If you are going to jump anyway, may as well avoid the fine! (remembers back to the Iranian first time jumper...)

Re: [d7b] Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
the biggest flaw in these "security camera jammers"
is that they are not actually camera jammers at all they are wireless frequency disruptors.

any camera (or any other device) that is NOT WIRELESS is NOT AFFECTED and will continue to operate flawlessly.

what a retarded discussion.
Shortcut
Re: [d7b] Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
Agreed. Wireless is becaming quite popular and I know at least one object, not far from where I live, which wasn't been jumped for a few year because of cameras all around the site (although these are probably wired). If it does its job, that's would be good though.

I guess what comes into people minds is some laser pointed to the camera like in the movies, hence the piss taking. Mock and be mocked is what I would say. :)

If money is a problem, this jammer costs less than $10:

The best camera jammer is a t-shirt ;p

Re: [Phantomjumper] Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
It depends what you need, in a situation where if you're spotted at all, you're busted this is useless, like a stairwell nobody is supposed to be in. But just in a scenario where having your face recorded on camera could get you busted, like riding up an elevator of a particular church building in SLC utah Tongue this is the best solution IMO.

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-an-Invisible-Mask-for-Video-Cameras

Its not going to screw with camera systems and tip off security guards, and also not a fucking ski mask/bandana or something that draws a ton of attention to yourself/makes it look like you're going to rob the place.

If you can tinker a bit this is ideal,

http://cdn2.ubergizmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/24_cap-led-light.jpg

Pick one of those up, and replace the LED's with infrared ones, and then it could be clipped to any hat/helmet/head band etc to meet the needs of the particular jump. And while i would imagine a security camera jammer is illegal, and would probably get you in a huge mess of trouble in court, this is at least a bit more grey area.

Use the "url" button before your intended link, then the "/url" at the end. Then you get a nice clicky for everyone to follow. Wink

Re: [Phantomjumper] Security camera jammers.Anybody use them?
I have installed many cameras and watched hours of footage... I would not spend the money. They would not work on the majority of the commercial grade systems I have installed, if anything, they give the perfect red flag to direct the attention of the reviewer to the exact moment they want to see.

30.06 but it's a one-shot kind of jammer.
