John Mjøen BASE Norway 1. Longyearbyen Svalbard 78° North late 1987 - 1989 I think.

He also run a motorbike out from 72° North Nordkapp with a motorbike around 1990.

We have very little documentation about John unfortunately except what I have collected of magazines or newspapers from that time. John did not have many base jumps either before he start jumping with Thor Alex Kappfjell around 1996, and I guess he borrowed his first modern velcro rig as well when they jumped the Oslo Airport control tower.

I would not step foot into those two Countries, much less Base Jump there! I was the Captain of a Commercial Flight with Iraqi Airways in 2009, that flew into Tehran, Iran. I never got out of my seat in the Cockpit! I put the window shades UP, to avoid detection! See, I'm a Big, White American, and that is not welcome there!

North Korea? I would not even operate a Commercial Flight into that God Forsaken Country! If you go there, you are a fool.

Jumping in countries with no solid legal structure, if they object to BASE is a deathwish.
While it might be a laugh to jump from that failure of a building in Pyongyang, I can't imagine the years in prison following would be worth it.

Here's an old clip of the motorbike-jump John made from the North Cape plateau! The video-quality is not very good though ..

Nice feat. I did not know about that one. Seems like there are heaps of altitude. Any chance of finding 60 m vertical somewhere over there?

Thank you, nice video. If you have more, please share. Do you have anything about his jump at Svalbard?

I have a Vi Menn I think who wrote about his jumps, but, that is stored among 1 000 magazines and newspapers.
