This is my first post so dont kill me. And yeah i've never base jumped. but i saw a waterfall near where i live. it's 178ft. And i was just wondering if something like this is possible. With assisted opening maybe?

10 views and no one will answer? Come on. I am just curious. I know nothing about this sport thats why i ask. I am a rock climber and want to go skydiving when i get the chance but base just interests me... So when i see rock or any big walls or anything for that matter i get curious about jumping off it. Some of us in life like to jump off stuff.
Even rock climbers/ rope jumpers

 
Doesn't look that tall but pictures can be deceaveing. If it's 178 I'd say it looks like a sweet water jump.

I honestly don't know why more climbers don't base jump. Let's face it, repelling sucks. It's dangerous. and hikeing down hill is way too hard on the knees. Fuck that shit. Buy a base rig.

If you should decide to D-bag this waterfall please make sure to get good video and leave instructions on how to post it to this site.

Looks like a beautiful place, the height you mention is jumpable.

b/c they get tased when they do :P that does look like a sick ass jump, i would jump it =D

Yeah, that's jumpable. Probably a water landing, though.
And maybe a PCA at first.

PCA and make it to the landing on the right side of shore & flip your canopy in under the tree branches to shore to keep it dry. You get a little tail-push from the waterfall or Freefall it and get wet & cold . If your Last on the load or solo & PCA it, Rig a long-line behind you, as there is nothing up on exit to tie-off too.

there is someone who will jump almost anything. and they may get hurt in the process. it is a rather open-ended question.

even if an object has been jumped successfully, it doesn't mean it should be jumped at all.

even if some can happily jump an object repeatably, it still doesn't mean it's for everyone.

even a skilled, capable jumper can make bad calls and get hurt.

that said, 178 ft objects have been jumped by many.

We have jumped 33m (~110ft) multiple times over solid ground so yes, it is possible. How, under what conditions, with what experience and techniques and if it is a good idea or not, that is another question.

You Got . No profile or contact info, no base jumps, a dozen posts with a Pic. of State park waterfall asking if it is Jumpable . Say's he is a Rock Climber but is in a state park with nothing to climb & asking about the object with a picture . Say's He wants to make a Skydive someday but never been to the 2 DZ'z right in that area .


So I just have to ask ?
Why is BASE jumping even in your thoughts when you are looking @ the Waterfall as a possible Exit and then make you Post Pic. ?

nope i dont exist and i dont rock climb. and i hate heights and i can be a dick too. it took me 10 years to start climbing but once i started i couldnt stop.

I watched video recently of a friend of mine doing a rollover into the water from 85'. That parachute was more of a formality at that point of course.

I am so disapointed that you lack appeceation for my sarcasem. I must try harder.

I am not being a Dick. I just asking question like you did & ( you did not answer mine ) & No argument from me that you exist, But come-on now, that could be anyone in that random Pic. of someone on a rope. ?. Just like you putting-up a Pic. of local Waterfall in this area.
Now admit it. Your never going to make several hundred Skydives and then learn how to BASE jump & your probably a State Parks worker just wondering if anyone is jumping the Falls ?

ok now i understand. nope dont work for any government agency. When i show up in molalla with a base rig and a wingsuit you will prob laugh and send me home. so i know ill need to start figuring stuff out on my own already. I really want to learn so i can jump off the dachstein. And i have some time under a paraglyde canopy. 2 flights. one into some trees and one into a motorcycle in the middle of a field. and here, i posted new proof of life. and even edited my account..
