BASE Beginners

Hi there
Hi, I am looking for a mentor in the LA area. I usually jump in Perris. Looking to apply for Tom's Deathcamp and thus need someone that would be willing to mentor me. So far I have had no luck in meeting any basejumpers out at Perris beyond the occasional 30 jump winder and my on of my AFF Instructor who hates me. As to me: I am 26. I have skydived for a year now. Have close to 300 jumps (a lot of tracking dives), spent countless hours mining dz and bj.com. (not that that means much but hey, its at least something). I am thinking right now about heading out to BD to get to know people, see the sport live, talk to manufacturers, and maybe sit in on the Apex course (dunno if thats possible, will call them about ti).
If anybody wants to lend a helping hand, Id appreciate it.

There are several experienced people at Perris. You say your instructor hates you. Why? That's not what you'd call starting off on the right foot

Hate is a little strong.... we just really don't click and he thinks I'm somewhat of a dumb ass... I'm no Venus by any means but I have enough wits to keep myself out of trouble
