Virgin objects.
How many of you got your BASE number from all four objects that YOU opened.

Re: [gauleyguide] Virgin objects.
Phil Smith, BASE 1, has deca-BASE #1, by the way. Random thought...

Re: [460] Virgin objects.
Good point, even though my first BASE jump was at BD, I later jumped all four objects that I opened.

460, what is "deca-BASE"?

Um, didn't you jump them when you opened them? Tongue
Opening each of The Four object types is impressive!

I have solo'd each, opened three types on my own, and
opened 19 of my 34 total objects. Finding a virgin span
is definitely the most difficult, in my opinion.

Re: [GreenMachine] Opening Virgins
There are still a couple virgin S's up here if you have a ratted out rig you don't mind getting nasty wet, just make sure your shots are up to date.Wink

Re: [GreenMachine] Opening Virgins
deca-BASE means 10 different buildings, 10 different antennas, ten different spans, 10 different cliffs.

Re: [lowcountryBase] Opening Virgins

Re: [gauleyguide] Virgin objects.
I'm fairly certain that a few objects in my area have been jumped in the past, but I have no knowledge of who when or how they jumped it. I am the only active jumper within hours of my area. So every time I find a object I have to go through the steps to open it. My question is, would that be considering "opening" the object or reopening it.

Re: [_cuzucan_] Virgin objects.
so imagine, if people existed near el cap 5 million years ago, developed parachutes, and jumped it successfully. what about the rest of us? what's the time line?

Re: [460] Virgin objects.
Not sure 460 maybe 10 years, but I don't know. Anyone want to claim any south Louisiana jumps?????? PM me. I would say that whoever jumped it with no information or assistance from previous jumpers "opened" the object but I am a newbie Crazy

Re: [_cuzucan_] Virgin objects.
personal observation about "Opening" an object...

good thing:
when jumper performs due diligence, studies, plans, and brings a careful approach to jumping.

bad thing:
when a jumper acts in a slash and burn fashion for mere bragging rights. they can end up opening and burning it to the ground all in one jump.

who cares if someone else jumped it first?
first, survive. second, don't draw attention, so you can do it again. repeat as often as you like. when you travel, people will notice your habits and you'll build your rep based on how you approach jumping.

people may disagree.
I may be wrong.
in BASE, we all get to make our own calls.
