I have about 20-30 jumps on my V3 and I already have some wear and a very small hole at the base of the leg wing. I was thinking about reinforcing it with gaffer's tape. Experiences?

i have fixed a big tear above the bootie(15cm) and a tear on the back where the laterals go in.
the tape on the bootie lasted the whole season, i taped the tear from inside and outside.
i know what you mean about the legwing, mine looks really fucked too, but i'm lazy and walk with the legwing in place to the exit point, rappel in it etc. but most of v3s i have seen have this kind of wear. i'll send it in for repairs as soon as the season is over.

In most sail (and some riggers lofts) they sell sturdy rip-stop tape. Depending on the type (some types seem to hold better than others) its the best semi-permanent solution you can have...

yes and in my opinion most of it is crap, especially if applied to zero.p.
what works a little better is the stuff that came with my speedflyer. but ductape in my experience is way superior and more resistant to humidity.

I have used rip-stop to canopy and ws (V2) and its really good stuff... specially if you will use it in proper way -> inside+outside... I have almost ten year old rip-stop patch in canopy what I used to use and it have about 600 jumps after fix and patch/patches looks like put it last week !!! ...I have always couples rolls of that rip-stop with me in base trip !

So skip that gaffer tape and use good stuff !
Little tip: cut those rip stop patches corners to round shape and then they will last forever and use it for both sides inside, outside !

I had a competent sewer do some work on my V1 because I was stepping on the bottom of the leg wing, he did some minor fixes (I will take a picture) that prevents me from damaging the stitching on the bottom of the leg wing.
