MTR3 - leg wing behaviour
hi there,

after flying for years a S3 I know bought a MTR3. The forward speed is unbelieveable good, but when it flies fast the leg wing is shaking. Tried a lot of positions. Anybody an idea how to get it non-wabbling?

wrong color maybe?

Yes.

It is a problem that is inherent to the design of the inlet. See attached pic. The Matter as you know has the inlet parallel to the bottom surface of the wing. This means that most of the opening is parallel to the relative wind when you fly fast. This causes the wing to not pressurize properly at all flight angles. So you'll have to learn to work within a small range of angles where the wing pressurizes enough to not cause flutter.

The S3 leg wing inlet(and all inlets on modern suits) is(are) as shown, perpendicular to the relative airflow. This allows solid pressurization in any steady state flight angle.

Re: [KrisFlyZ] MTR3 - leg wing behaviour
Hey Kris,
fuck, you're right! It just appears while it flies fast forward and the flapping feels like a loose wing. I didn't think about this possibility. That's a shame, because this suit has real power. Have you ever told that to Cedric from Matter and if so does he has a modification-something?

No, I never owned a Mtr3 wingsuit. This happened to me with an S8 I purchased in 2008. The leg wing inlet on that is similar to the Mtr3(parallel to relative airflow).

You could try sewing some scoops in front of the inlet, that should surely work.
