Re: [Rauk] Thank You
The founding fathers were clearly advocates of a non-interventionist foreign policy.
"Wherever the standard of freedom and independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will be America's heart, her benedictions and her prayers. But she does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own."
-John Quincy Adams
"Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations – entangling alliances with none."-Thomas Jefferson
"If there be one principle more deeply rooted than any other in the mind of every American, it is that we should have nothing to do with conquest." -Thomas Jefferson
"My ardent desire is to keep the United States free from political connections with every other country, to see them independent of all and under the influence of none." -George Washington
"I have always given it as my decided opinion that no nation had a right to inter-meddle in the internal concerns of another; and that, if this country could, consistent with its engagements, maintain a strict neutrality and thereby preserve peace." -George Washington
"Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all. ...The nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest."-George Washington
"Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled, that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation--the last arguments to which kings resort." -Patrick Henry
etc.. etc.. etc.. etc..
And there is good reason for this.

. We cannot afford these endless wars.
These wars are actually putting our liberties at risk. Not to mention all of our freedoms that have been stripped in the name of 'fighting terror' with bills like the Patriot Act.
If the U.S. wanted to fight, then Congress should have 'declared war' (in order to keep us from a 'nation building roll' / endless war). But they didn't; we haven't since WWII.
And if you take the time to look at the reasons why 'the terrorists' attacked us on 9/11 you will see it was because we had been performing military operations and putting our nose in the politics of the Middle East (e.g. Saudi Arabia, where most of the 9/11 terrorists were from) for decades. The same interventionist foreign policy that has us over there now is the same policy that started their deep-rooted hate for us. (not that they were justified in their action, but we gave them the motive). It wasn't because they hate freedom. America is no longer a free country. America has more laws than any other country in the world, and if you take into account inflation (thanks to the federal reserve & their counterfeiting) we are the highest taxed country in the world. Also, we have the most people in prison (EVEN MORE THAN COMMUNIST CHINA!!! who have about 4X as many people as us...

)
America is the new Rome & we all know what happened to their empire.
"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." -- Cicero, 55 B.C.
