I know Todd and Troy (of Basic Research) went over to visit their Dad and both made building jumps on Oahu (in Honolulu) in 1987. There were no "crews" then, LOL!

I still jump here frequently btw, I just pulled off a stupid jump 180 on a cliff and landed a miracle man. I'll upload the video on to youtube later.

The point of this post was to share the quote of one of my friends (im not in iraq). I also figured that someone like "mark" would respond with the quote from Matt's book.

@Matt, as you can see, what you wrote is not "anonymous", people know immediately who you are talking about in your book, so your argument that it is a anonymous case study does not fly very well. Matt, I have nothing against you, I just don't like what you wrote. It allows personal attacks to continue, after the subject, for the most part, has been laid to rest.

So in American tort law, we hold people liable for negligence and personal injury of others in what they write. Defamation in writing is known as libel. Although what you wrote may have been based upon what you saw in the interview, you made false assumptions such as me GIVING the video to the media, and me BRAGGING, etc. You held me in a negative light, and even though you did not use my name, people know who I am. You bashed me in the book, and you added fuel to the fire that allows people to continue hatred towards me.

So now Matt I am on here, and I am sure you will run across this thread (I hope). All I ask is that you state that you did not research the facts, and just apologize. It does not have to be long, and I'll forget about it.

If you do not apologize here publicly, then I won't forget about it. And depending on the seriousness of the attacks, I may take legal action against you. I don't want to be a dick, but you wrote it. And like how I will have to live with being known as the kid who was on that interview, you got to be responsible for what you wrote.

BTW everyone, I don't get on here that much, but I am on Facebook. Please add me as a friend if you don't hate me like everyone does anyway. I live in Hawaii, I Jump in Hawaii, and if you are ever here I can show you some new B's we figured out. I speedfly, skydive, & I am a pilot too. I've jumped in several places across the U.S. but never any small towns or local sites. I never had a real mentor, so if you want to "mentor" me you can do that too.

I am just uncomfortable with people attacking me through PMs on here saying they are going to hurt me in various ways for being a douchefag, and shit I don't even know your names . I have come to understand what happened in November, and if you all haven't thats too bad, because I am going to keep jumping, thats what the sport is for me.

I just turned 20 years old, I am young & dumb so whatever. You guys can hate all you want, but i'd rather go and jump.

Are you threatening to go to the legal system, and complain that someone vaguely talked about you doing illegal things? You do realize that in order to even stand a CHANCE at winning you would first have to admit that yes, that was in fact you involved in the criminal activity.

That is true, I have already had a brief conversation with Matt G; however, I do not want to spam his books thread with my "ignorant" stuff.

and in response to having to say that I am a BASE jumper here in Hawaii. . . well its already known. BASE jumping here is not illegal. Trespassing is, and if you get caught you are banned from an object for a year. Honolulu Police doesn't have a real problem with BASE jumpers, and so admitting I have trespassed isn't a big issue.

What I am trying to do is get Matt on here to join the conversation, yes this is your invitation, and explain about what he wrote.

He told me he got all his information from the interview. He never asked any local jumpers about what had happened, never talked to me. Instead he just bashed me, or at least "anonymously" bashed me. My point is most people who read the book will know who he is talking about. There aren't many "young hawaiian" BASE jumpers. I am the only 20 yr old jumping around here, unless there is a real sly mofo I don't know about.

I apologize for being a jackass, I was just worked up over what I read. I retract my statements due to the fact that shit happens. I still don't think Matt G was right in what he wrote, but at least I made it into the book. Its a good book by the way.

So again, I am sorry for stirring up shit, we all get pissed sometimes.
