Tree Sap
Got some bad tree sap in my lines and on the canopy. Any ideas on how to get it out?

thanks ill try that. im guessing just a little bit at a time? I think I might soak lines for a little bit in some detergent. bad idea?

You'd be surprised what will work with tree sap. For dacron lines, just try rubbing alcohol then wash the lines with warm water and detergent then let it dry.

Just for information sake, there are other chemicals that won't harm nylon If you have it, naptha, mineral spirits, bug spray such as deep woods off, lighter fluid, nail polish remover, should work also.

Just be sure to use warm water and detergent (without bleach) to wash it off with.

You can go the olive oil, ( or peanut butter, or mayonnaise ) route but personally, I'd start with the rubbing alcohol.

Tree sap is annoying but it's not too hard to remove.

Some citrus based products are good for removing that kind of stuff.

does it hurt to leave tree sap on the lines?
