Yeh, lets take a complete novice for a BASE jump. For God sake, it gives a bad/false impression for new commers & the public...

hey nice plug for Kapowsin, the Farringtons are good crew. No AFF or Static. he must have done a couple minutes of tunnel-time as he was pretty stable for the 1st Freefall and also on the PC pitch . IF not tunnel-time, I would have expected a lot more potato chipping and spinning.

As for the 1st BASE jump, who has Not thrown someone off the Twin Bridge that they should not have. ? Raise your Hand .
Doing the 1st Skydive and then 1st BASE jump & living & flipping out on the Web. 'No Big Deal ' . It is what he does after this and how he digests & approaches what he did. If he just runs in full blast with both eyes closed he is most likely fucked. but he looked pretty level headed to even get this far .

Yah, actualy he did seem very togather. I wasn't really clear on exactly what was happening or how they found this guy. He seemed too sharp for them to have just picked him out of a hat. Good posterchild. If he continues I'd bet he'd make a really good skydiver.

I've seen a lot of crazy shit and at times even been involved in it. When you find your self shakeing your head while it's going down, you know it's fucked up. It's amazing what you can get away with as long as nothing goes wrong.

In truth what they did really wasn't all that dangerous. ABC Accelerated Base Course. Cool just came up with that. maybe I should copyright it. So he's basicaly at at a level one ABC, staticline deployment over a large landing area. He's about as much of a base jumper as a level 1 AFF is a skydiver and we accept that. The problem is that at a dropzone they have the keys to the plane. We really take pretty good care of our students for the most part. Theirs always the exception of the really hot chick that gets a twenty way built around her on her first jump off AFF as every one tries to crawl into her pants at the same time. Bridges and shit are just out there. I doubt this guy is going to go kill him self but I wory about all the people watching the video. Speaking of which. What is that from? Was it on TV? I can hear the phones at kopowsen now ringing off the hook with students demanding to sign up for the ABC course. Maybe i should call them about royalties for the use of my acronim.
