I saw this in the news. There's no english articles about it yet so here's a rough translation:

Trento, 22 LUG - A base-jumper American dead and 25 years' after a flight from the wall of the mountain zebra Brenta, Dro.

The young man and 'parachute jump from the top of the wall, but two-thirds of the glider flight was an anomaly and has been' closed. The jumper is unfortunate and 'so' crashed into the wall for a hundred yards rushing in a canyon.

The Alarm 'was released later by the young fellow who has not seen arriving at the place of landing.

Another article I found says it was a female jumper.

This is a jumper local to the area I'm in. The only info I have is lacking details except who it was and the rest was brief. I don't think I'm allowed to say who yet. Its on FB if you're from around here.

180 opening and cliff strike.

That's all that was sent to me and several local folks. Nothing else was said.

I was at ITW this morning when the accident occurred, 180 and cliff strike. Full details will follow in due course. My thoughts go out to the family and friends.

Shocked ? another dead BASE jumper. I don't understand ? They go hand-in-hand don't they ? BASE Jumping and dieing ?
but hey, You could have fallen back on the stereotypical & proverbial .
" At least she died doing what she loved " .

There is no pattern, or minimum or high average #'s to give for dieing and BASE jumping . The only constant is that it does not stop. Every now and again several will leave in a short period of time. But If you think positive. I bet this current trend is only a temporary one & will be ending any week now .

Was this connected to that new rogue school? My thoughts go out to the Mucho BASE locals that will bear the consequences. +1 to Ray's remarks; it's base jumping not basket weaving.

Late Summer / Early Autumn seems to be becoming the bigger season. Maybe people have a few under their belts and are confident and the season is coming to an end????

We have not got there yet this year.

The name of the deceased jumper is Allisyn Martinez.

Allisyn performed a 2 way tracking jump making a 10 sec delay, she had a 180 on opening and hit the wall, eventually hanging up on lower part of the talus.

Noone saw the actual strike but this information was taken from her helmet camera.

This was her second jump at ITW.

That is a sad loss..
Had the jumper had a tracking suit, she probably would have opened a bit further from the wall...and the 180 wouldn't have mattered.. Unsure
