Tracking suit
Hi,
I'm trying to decide which tracking suit to buy. Does anybody have experience with Intrudair TS? http://www.intrudair.com/

Re: [Ronaldo] Tracking suit
I have a intrudeair suit. It flies nicely.

I tested also the Pants from Impact- Birdman..not so good..

The best choice would be Tube 2 from pressurized.
http://www.pressurized.at/products/tube2/

This trackingsuit is more powerful even than PF suit. because it has "some semi-rigid elements have been incorporated into the pants for a cleaner shape". As a result the pants of Tube 2 have less drag than any other tracking pants on the market.SmileCool

Re: [Ronaldo] Tracking suit
i realize this is an older thread, i'm in the market for a tracking-suit, and i'm thinking about the intrudair one.

does anybody have some recent experience with them? i'm specifically interested in the durability of the zippered booties, do they hold up well etc.

how do the perform in comparison to say the PF TS?

i think i've read on dorkzone that the one or other have blown up in freefall, how is the overall quality, again, in comparison to the PF one!?

your help is appreciated! Smile

Re: [virgin-burner] Tracking suit
I saw a guy jumping the new Intrudair tracking suit in LB last Wednesday. I was curious about it because I had never seen the brand before. It has some serious inlets and they are stiffened unlike the PF suit.

After talking to the guy he said there were some kinks to work out, but overall the suit was okay. The booties.. at least on his version.. were removable. He had the booties removed saying that he didn't care for them. He explained the flight performance as..,"It pressurizes really fast, but then has more drag than the PF suit."

I also saw the Tube 3, from Pressurized, in fight for the first time. Repeatedly I have heard that it is much more difficult to fly than the PF suit..but once you get it dialed it absolutely kicks ass. They guy jumping it must have had it dialed in pretty well because he was WAY the fuck out past his partner in a PF suit.

Or... you can just be a cheap bastard and make your own like i'm doing. Ha! Tongue Really.. I think all the suits are pretty similar. Just a matter of mastering the suit. I would argue that the differences are not THAT dramatic. But what do I know.

Best of luck... track hard/far but more important.. open strait. :)

Re: [Svin] Tracking suit
Gentlemen,

I find this discussion very interesting and I must say we´re living on very interesting times indeed. :) At least 3 companies are working on seriously on tracking suits and pushing what is possible to do on tracking suits. I´m very excited to see this as tracking has always been my main point of interest in BASE. I too have seen the Tube3 and the new Intrudair suit in action in LB and must say they look like interesting products, very cool ideas and interesting designs.

While the Hungarian and Austrian guys have been cooking up some new stuff, I can assure you that Robi has not only been kicking back and relaxing. :) We have been testing throughout the winter some interesting ideas and after some serious brainstorming, test jumps, sewing, cutting, planning, etc I have to say that the last proto we jumped seems to be far beyond anything I have ever jumped. Now I now this is a bold statement but having seen the whole evolution of tracking suits from the norwegian early designs up to what we have now, I´m pretty excited about the outcome of our latest tests. I´m not only speaking about the performance (as the performance of the previous models also started to be pretty allright) but what has blown me and others away has been the ease of flight and the pure solidity and pressurization of the suit in flight. Also where we wanted to work hard is the starts and now I feel we have dialed them in.

We started this work a long time ago and the only thing what makes me sad about this is that Father Ted who has been a great inspiration for all of us and gave us a lot of input on the suit, is not here to fly the thing which I believe is the product with he would have absolutely ripped everything apart and which I believe is the product he wanted.

So as I wrote on the top, we´re living super excited times and for people wanting to excel in tracking, this year seems to be very very promising indeed... :) Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to make this thing final. :)

yea, i'm aware of them brazilian suits.. looks like the pressurization on them pants is worth nada. i'm having problems trusting a hungarian suit already, let alone a brazilian one. i'd go to their carnival tough! Tongue

PF makes a rock-solid product, that's for sure, the austrian guys, look like a kickass suit as well, if not better than PF. intrudair.. i just havent heard ANYTHING about them except what you have said. and of course from a friend that is a dealer for them! Laugh

i'll probably just go with a 2nd hand PF-suit for now and see what the future holds for me! Smile

weeeell.. semi-rigid or not, wont help much if they blow up after x amount of jumps.. or the zippers of the booties let go.

i think i'd trade reliability over performance pretty much every day. having said that, i doubt it'd be that much noticeable for me anyway.

but i'm curious! Smile

Nope, atleast the Impact from BM had booties. I think its fantastic that so many companies are developing tracking gear. Wingsuits are so 2010. Any douche with a 100 skydives can survive a wingsuit base jump, impressive tracking is much harder to achieve.

Seriously speaking, with all the new toys available and coming into to the market and knowing what they can do in right hands, it really makes me feel sad for the people who never took the time to venture into tracking but rushed straight into the wingsuit proximiti (as seen on TV and juutuub !!!!). There is a whole world to be explored in tracking and I feel that today we´re just starting to open the door to see how the world looks like. :)

Re: [virgin-burner] Tracking suit
I have an Intrudair tracking suit. It flies nicely. I've only ever flown it on skyjumps, not BASE and I've never tried any other tracking suits so I can't compare. I had a problem with the bootie zips. The manufacturer recommends on the first few jumps not to use the booties. Twice I lost the zip slide and tab as they simply turn the end of the zip into the stitching to tie it off. With the vibrating of a fast track the slide and tab simply flew off. Even when I put proper zip stops on it they flew off. I had to resort to gaffa tape to stop it happening. Apart from that it is a nice suit and very nicely priced. My mate took it to Kjerag and used it there Smile

Re: [MBA-FRANK] Tracking suit
thanks for the input; but may i ask, "on the first few jumps", why should it get better later? no more warranty from the manufacturer!? Tongue

Re: [virgin-burner] Tracking suit
The suit doesn't get better later but your (my) control of the suit builds, firstly with some jumps without booties, then you progress to using the booties. More powerful track but harder to control for a novice tracker like me Laugh

You won't lose the zip slider when it's actually holding onto the bootie, zipped up. Only when it's flapping around, loose. So you would probably lose it early on during the warranty period. The warranty didn't matter to me much because the suit came from Hungary and I am in New Zealand. The manufacturer was excellent to deal with though. They sent the suit when they only had my word that I had sent the funds, which because of the banks, took a long time to get through Smile
Shortcut
Re: [MBA-FRANK] Tracking suit
well, maybe they're better to deal with than i initially thought.. i dont have too much trust in some things. but i'm pleased to be proven wrong.

decent manufacturers send you fully loaded skydiving containers at word value if time's a factor, or so i've experienced.

i'm really excited for that tracking-suit, i even got them to make me a custom color scheme.. so yea, probably my worries are not justified! cant wait to have it and do my first jumps with it! Smile

Re: [Svin] Tracking suit
Hi, thanks for sharing with us.

Just one question. Why did you choose to put the tension waste strap on the back? Wouldnt you either have it on the front away from where the pilot chute is located?
Shortcut
Re: [Svin] Tracking suit
Pretty cool. Have you jumped it more since then? What are your thoughts compared to other suits?
Shortcut
Re: [Indyoshi] Tracking suit
434...

I decided to do the tensioning on the sides just to keep the front super smooth. If I put the buckle in the front all the material would have bunched up and possibly blocked the leg inlests. Ehh.. maybe.. maybe not, but that was my thoughts. I actually have the buckles covered with a piece of fabric now to protect them from possibly getting in the way. I just tuck the tails into the top of the pants.

Indyoshi...

I've put one more jump on the pants while out at Brento, but on the trip I really wanted to focus on my "new to me" Twenty G2 from Pressurized. I plan to jump the track suit more, but the 20G is just awesome!

I've only jumped the PF tracking suit and for sure mine is WAY more stable. Why... probably because it's WAY more low performance. With only one jump in the full suit I can't make a fair comparison as of yet. It did feel like possibly the leg vents were too big and causing a lot of drag. I might do a small bar tack in the middle of the vent to cut it down a little and see if there is less drag. If/when I make more modifications I will update.

Thanks for the nice comments. Cheers!

It wtas developed for long years to be the most comfortable, the strongest and the most appropriate for the aim, using the advice and needs of many experienced pilots and groups. You can order it from many kinds of materials, with different kinds of grips and extras, according to your needs, from the basic to the full extra type.

I have an early Intrudair suit. Jumped it a fair bit from a plane to get used to it,the booties do make quite a difference.
Not had any quality issues at all, they were great to deal with, fast turnaround and it looks the business too.
I've only jumped it at LB and it flies plenty fast with quick inflation.
Makes a massive difference to jumping in civvies.

what are thoughts about the preussurized integrated tracking suit (1:57 in the video)
Shortcut
Re: [samadhi] Tracking suit
the plain wind tunnel data of the integrated tracking suit shows a performance potentialof up to 20%. also because of the integrated system the suit is an overall instead of a jacket and pantz, which increases the surface area.

the flight characteristics will be different and first test flights will show, if it is possible to get advantage of the performance potential.

rumors say, the suit is pretty close to be finished.

Re: [portillo] Tracking suit
do you have any idea of the price on that suit? (you sound like you are in the know!).

it looks like it definitely will have a performance advantage over the jacket/pants due to the increased surface area.
