I know this man you speak of to be a talented, knowledgeable, and friendly base jumper. Who are you to anonymously post otherwise?

BASE Jumping

BASE jumping is a highly dangerous sport that can easily injure and kill participants. Think long and hard before making a BASE jump. We do not recommend BASE jumping to anybody. You, and you alone, are responsible for your safety.

you can take anybody's FJC and be injured or kill any time. if you don't want to get hurt don't BASE jump play soccer or some thing else.

Re: [baseenergy2010] fjc courses in Spain
I know him. Maybe you had some learning probs. You are basically anon. I just have to give credit to him because of this rather than you. SEnd me a message if it is really bad like you say. 900 yoyos for someone to teach how to hurl yourself off a cliff or something and survive and you are whining about no 10 euro hook knife. I seem to be missing your point. We can sort this out. But you dissing people online is not the way IMHO. Just contact the ones in the know and it will get sorted.
How was your jump?
Also, You cant expect someone to give up everything to teach you BASE. well you can but it aint realistic. If I had 10 students in a year paying 900 i could almost buy a cheap car if I didnt take an apartment or eat.
Take care, message me and we can get it sorted.

I know Hubsi.
I don't know about how he care about money but probably like everyone of us.
I don't know if his course is good or bad and how he taeach.

I know that he teach guy from my country and didn't check his background. Guy had bellow 150 skydive jumps collected in few years of jumping.
But sometimes number is not everything.
The guy is any active climber and probably it helps him with dealing in extreme situations.
The guy i think is jumping and didn't get hurt yet.
Maybe he is talented ;-)

Relax and mucho BASE ;-)

Re: [NerwOlek] fjc courses in Spain
(not at you Oleck)
Just the fact that a BASE instructor tells you how many skydives you should should have means he is playing the game of the government. Govs need numbers. It is the responsibility of the instructor to supply these numbers as loosless as they are. But if you, as an instructor, put your budding student on a 50 skydive BASE course he is gonna be way ahead of the pack than one who did a couple of tracking jumps when he had 800+ skydives. . I would put up my student with a 120 skydives against any BASEr just because of the fact that he did 60 BASE preparation jumps.. and have anyone out wing or track him. It would be a run for the money. I have a prob with baseenergy2010 being anon. If one wants to give crap, one should man up and stand by what they say unanon IMHO. It is just a new social thing (15yrs) with the internet. Anyone can post crap and not be held responsible. or post uncrap. Who is to know if one takes the anon way?
Take care,

What about a poll trying to find out if the text in this poll is true?

What's up with this knife situation.
Can you explain?

Re: [baseenergy2010] fjc courses in Spain
this is BASE.
make your call and be prepared to deal with the consequences.

it starts with choosing a solid instructor. communication is key. the experienced jumper might be skilled, but they and the student do not click. or the experienced jumper may be weak.

there is no organization out there to protect students.

each individual jumper must develop judgment on whether or not to jump. start with choosing the right instructor for YOU.

-----

as for the specific individual, I do not know them. I have zero opinion.

anonymous criticism can reflect poorly on either party. you may be doing yourself a disservice.

if you make a bad call, do a jump beyond your skill level, and end up in the hospital, will you complain about the object, or your decision? is it any different here?

All this over a hook knife?
A better poll would have been have you
ever used a knife on ANY jump ever!!

3000 SKY jumps - nope
210 BASE jumps - nope

I did my first basecourse with Hupsi and it was awesome...
he gave me a short introduction in Benidom before the Bali event, while we were doing lines on a spanish hookers butt ( thats how I met Dan the Man, Nico and Olek) just around the corner from the Bali....next day I took part in the competition and almost made it to the final round - but I kept doing to many shots with Frank so i decided to go and do some bandit jumps - thats when I did my first static line jump ( the static line kit is included in the first jump course)...so i can only recommend it
