tried getting a hotel on the 1st to the 2nd and expedia/kayak/hotels.com are all saying everything is sold out...even the sabre system for travel agents says its all out. anyone know of a cheap hotel taht isnt with those sites taht may have space for 1 night?

Try the the hostel at Mosvangen Camp Ground. It's about 10 minute bus ride out of Stavanger.
