I was chatting to a local buddy of mine who told me he had a hangup with his WLO toggles, I have had a similar issue with mine on one of my lower jumps.
It seems the brake setting was hooking onto the point where the pin enters into the top part of the toggle(see attachment).
I try to make sure I don't let the brake setting go over this point, but it does anyway sometimes


Anyone else had issues?

have not had any issues to date... but i've only put maybe 20 jumps on those toggles. also, i have a habit of being sure not to jam the toggle too deep into the keeper and putting a healthy amount of pre-tension on the brake line once set. dunno if that helps or not. i'll keep an eye on it though.

Not yet and I have a lot of jumps on the toggles. make sure the brake is set properly just above the the point in your picture. Then tension the line and mate the velcro as perfectly as possible. The line can not move farther down the toggle this way.

You need to advance the pin further so the "eye" is over the "eye".

In that picture you're stressing the straight shaft of the pin. Keep doing that it will bend the pin making the release more difficult.

I advance my pin's to eye over eye maytee, and it's smooth sailing on the blue seas.

Thank you for all the replies. I will be sure to set my brakes properly while packing, and avoid shoving them in too far.

What WLO toggles are you using, apex?

Yeah, the Apex toggles. The other guy who has the same problem also flys a blackjack, maybe that has something to do with it.

I finally got a jump in, Yay

It was a slider down 2.5 second delay. I made sure when packing to keep any lines clear of the pin on my WLO toggle. When i reached for my toggle and the left toggle came off fine, but my right one had a hangup.
It pulled my riser down with it

I will use my WLO's on slider up jumps for sure, but I think I'm going to stick to big grabs for my slider down/off jumps.

Maybe its just me, but if anyone else has a similar problem, please let me know.

Maybe you could also try the Brake release toggles made by Adrenaline Base
