Cheap Accomodation in Twin Falls
Does any one know of any really cheap accomodation in twin falls? I am travelling over for the first time in june to do a FBJC and then spending a month there afterwards. I will be on a really tight budget so trying to spend as little on accomodation etc as possible. i would be happy to stay in any kind of place, motel/spare room in some ones house.

The cheapist i have managed to find so far is motel 6 which is $42 a night.

also it will be my first trip to the states so does any one have any tips for doing things on the cheap out there, cheapist way to eat etc.

Buy a cheap minivan and take the seats out, park it at the visitor center and live in that.

I hear some people camp at centennial park down at the bottom but I'm not the person to ask about that. Hopefully someone can chime in whether or not you can do that.

The homeless guy's name is Joe. Nice guy. Kresta Christensen and Mick Base bought him that tent a few years ago, but I think he rents a room now. Others have camped out along that trail with no problems.
Good luck buddy.

Depending on your morals, I'm sure you could 'persuade' a local to put you up Laugh It'll only cost you a little bit of work each day. Laugh

I was last there in January and we saw that tent and it looked like it hadnt been lived in in months. We tried to close the zipper on the door but it didnt even work. We just assumed the bum was dead.

Nope, he's not dead. Good old Joe's still kicking and living life his way. He use to have a tent on the North end of the bridge, until a bunch of kids found his campsite and cut it up with knives. That's when Kresta and Mick bought him the tent you saw and he decided to move his campsite over to the trail. He's a tough old fart and has spent many cold Idaho winters sleeping outside. He's more like a mountain man than a bum.
