How many jumps on V3?

Michele Avanzi - 'il Gatto' or 'the cat' to his friends has left us. As posted above it was a wingsuit jump from an exit he had jumped once before (last year).

Michele went up P. on Sunday morning with another jumper, he chose to exit second. After landing the first jumper waited but did not see any part of Michele's jump and was unsure if he had actually jumped (the LZ is far away from the exit).

When Michele failed to appear we looked for him at his car and the alternative landing areas. We then alerted the search and rescue who eventually found him 1 day later thanks to the cell phone he was carrying (the search area was large and over very difficult terrain).

We are unsure of the cause of the accident at this point.

Maybe the video from his helmet cam could show the flight path and also the possible cause of the accident..

Is it confirmed that it were a proxmicity flight going wrong or is invastigation still trying to sort out if he did deploy?

There must have been some people who had already studied the video from his helmet cam... I hope they are gonna tell us their conclusions...in order to learn someth. from all that happened.

The italian link posted above says that it was recovered his helmet cam..:"I carabinieri della stazione di Vezzano hanno altresì recuperato la videocamera che il pilota aveva installato sul casco, e quindi dalle immagini del filmato sarà possibile ricostruire l’esatta dinamica del volo, e le cause precise dell’impatto. Juanitos, I get the impression you haven't been jumping very long and that you also have never been close to a fatality.

Michele hasn't even been buried a week. If useful information is discovered it will be shared in due course.

Try focusing your energy on something more positive and productive than this fatality - as will I.

Can we learn something from this accident?

The video is still with the family and the requests of a website forum do not justify disturbing them at this time.

I would like to know what happened also, whilst the video could perhaps show some other issue close to the ground - I assume from the point where the body was found that Michele tried to pass over the plateau without sufficient altitude.

Michele had recently returned from a year lay off but had made numerous skydives and BASE jumps before this jump.

If at a later date the video shows anything significant I will share the information.
