backcountry back packs,,, the MINimalist kind??
i was wondering if anybody had any info on stripped down (ie. very thin , minimal to no padding,,)

backcountry bags out there NOT made by a BASE manufacterer??

having trouble finding something desirable!

i'm lookingt for something i can wear under my wingsuit without being to bulky.... i know Apex an d consolidated/asylum makes something decent.

ive gone around to all the Sport type shop around and haven't found anything close to what i'm describing,,, it's seem the trend lately is leaning in the uLtra comfortable padding and over padding and bulky,, not desirable for me....

thanks

gossamer gear. same price or cheaper, lighter and better.

i have a mariposa and absolutely love it on long hikes. it also folds down tiny if you remove padding. even with it its no problem to fit in a wingsuit.

the have sales/ selling off older models where you can make really good deals.

I can get my Gargoyle w/Troll 245 and V-2 in my Golite Pinnacle, snug but room on top for a light jacket, helmet etc. Ultralight, comfortable, sturdy. Inexpensive if you find it on sale.

limited big back country wall jumps here. don't like to litter. but it's a puzzle how to get to top of big wall that might take long time to jump due to waiting for weather and be able to jump down all that stuff. sorry, i type russian when i wodka. advice would be helpful. i mean, the alpine apexbase rig seems perfect but i mean are there alternative. dah or nyet.

Check out http://www.berghaus.com/

I've seen some of their stuff and they have options that are exactly what you're looking for.

However, a stashbag in disguise will pretty much always look like a stashbag in disguise.

The Berghaus bags look enough like day-packs that I think you'd draw less attention.

The two other packs are a bit smaller or without the extension cover. I like the idea of being able to change the volume, the extension cover fabric is very thin and lightweight, adding almost no weight/bulk. Getting ALL stuff inside the pack is important on long hikes, where you may encounter even pouring rain (Norway). In the Starlite I can fit the rig (Perigee Pro with 205 Troll), wingsuit (V2), camera helmet, lots of extra clothing, camelback water system... so it is quite roomy (3400 cu.in. with extension cover). Still goes under the wingsuit.

For modifications, I removed two of the outside mesh pockets, one is enough for me. The closing of the extension cover fabric was originally made with welcro, but I removed it and sew a channel for a thin line to go around the mouth of the pack to close it.

I was also able to get the hip belt with no pockets and paddings for minimum weight and bulk.

I can take some photos, just tell what info you need.
