Read Before Posting
Beginners: For the beginners it is important to remember that base jumping is not something you just get into by going and buying some gear and finding a local site. There is a lot to learn, and with experience comes wisdom (in most cases at least). We recommend you pay attention to what you are told by the more experienced jumpers, listen to their advice and treat them with a degree of respect, though this of course goes both ways.
We recommend that before you post any questions, that you read all the base jumping articles and familiarize yourself with the terms, gear and the general ethics involved. You may find some of your questions already answered in the General BASE section of the forum, so be sure to search before you post. There is quite a bit of reading to be done but if you're too lazy to read some articles BASE jumping is definitely not for you, every bit of knowledge will help you stay alive.
Beginners are of course allowed to continue talking in the General BASE section of the forum, though we suggest you keep noob questions to the Beginners section. We still highly suggest you lurk the General BASE section and try soak up as much knowledge as you can, in collaboration with what you will be learning in the Beginners section.
Please refrain from:
- Posting questions to topics which have already been answered in other threads.
- Naming illegal jump sites.
- Personal attacks at all times.
Experienced Jumpers:
Please note this area of the forum is for beginner questions and discussions, the purpose is to allow those who are new to base jumping to ask questions without the fear of being butchered by the more experienced jumpers, as well as remove some of the questions experienced jumpers will find annoying from the General BASE section of the forum. The experienced jumpers are encouraged to post here and help the beginners, but only by means of constructive criticism. This area of the forum will be heavily moderated.
Please refrain from:
- Insulting posters based on their inexperience.
- Deliberately posting misleading information.
- Personal attacks at all times.
Both parties also be sure to read the forum rules.
