no, in active air the differential vertical movement of air can easily collapse paragliders. The way around that is 'active piloting'.(adjusting the AOA of the glider to compensate for changing vertical movement of air as you fly through it). sometimes it is still too much and gives a deflation (collapse). Normally a glider re-inflates on it's own quickly, but higher end gliders require significant correct pilot input to re-inflate. this guy was not paying attention, got a collapse, and could not deal with it because he was acting like a jackass.
