I was chatting with an old friend the other day and he mentioned that on our High School grad trip to Myrtle Beach in '88, a BASE jumper jumped from our hotel and (maybe) hit the hotel next to us? I was to drunk to remember that at first, but now all I can come up with is, I do remember seeing a partially inflated canopy on the ground and lots of flashing lights.

I do remember a fatality around then, some guy hit his head on the break wall landing. I remembered it because the guy had almost exactly the same number of jumps and experience as I at the time.

He wasn't wearing a helmet.
