us rampaging in our national parks??

You see, it was a joke.

Yes the song was cool.
Yes the time lapse was cool.

No, it had nothing to do with us rampaging in our (their?) national parks.

I just enjoyed the simplicity of the video of Yosemite, with a ton of people "getting in touch with nature" from the comfort of their R.V.'s and safely walking carefully manufactured, well groomed trails contrasted against a video of Times Square, with pretty much the EXACT same thing, minus the R.V.'s.

Again. It was just a joke.

Yep, it is a bummer but the USA is on
the downward spiral... just look at how
the obesity rate and divorce rate are in
a race upward - both over 50%

It just bugs me to no end that national parks were created to cater to the lowest common denominator in our society while being discriminatory towards certain low-impact user groups like us.

RV's. People used to EARN their experiences, now they ca just drive up, level off, turn on the tube and bit my mosquitos. Leaving their food out, trash and rubbish, the "ah isn't this the life camping". they have been too lazy to see what a little physical activity and possible discomfort can bring.

What someone told me... I don't want to say his name, but he's 100% right.

We are hikers like EVERY body else of that "user group" while in the national parks. We follow trails, posted signs, ect.... and probably cause less damage then the hikers who walk off trail, get rescued and use up valuable resources.

SO for 7 minutes (freefall and canopy time give or take) we are "different".

But for all the other hours on end that were in the NPS we are like every hiker and visitor in the park.

But those few minutes and seconds we fly we are now criminal.
