logistics for twin falls for this gimp to jump
any locals willing to help toss a gimp off the bridge?

1)Does anyone still have the platform used for Russell?
(we talked, he wont be making it-lest some miracles happen).

2) Boat rental, help with that someone want to volunteer to give me a hand on getting this guy over there?

3) got accommodations,
(need room mates- for experienced jumper willing to be a big part of this, coming there to help out, a spot is free for you in this room-another thread in this form is for that room PM me about it)

4) ground crew on bridge, on potential ground landing, & getting up to bridge again. its a few-more then i Would like to see but lots of Patron will have to flow from my room Sly

5) Transportation.
I have not decided on what to do for getting there, mainly because if i get a ride with someone else it is better then flying somewhere to be begging for a pick up from an airport. Which i may have to do. I cant rent a car-have no license to drive after i lost the legs.
So transportation comes in 3 parts potentially.
1) getting there from here,
2) getting to and from hotel from bridge
3) getting to the hotel from airport if needed.

People willing to help out in any of this will be asked to add their thoughts, offers, suggestions, fckoffs, here.

Re: [extremewheelchairs] logistics for twin falls for this gimp to jump
if you really have base jump, all you need to do is have couple guy's lift you up on the railing and jump from there, so you don't need the ramp(home depot, 2x4 and plywood and rope, wood screw), can you land on the trail so don can pick you up easily, if you fly in to twin falls maybe some local can pick you up.

may 27-June 1.

jumping-hoping the following dates:
28, 29, 30th of May.

As for jumping without a platform.

Yes there are many things I could do,

bu I would prefer certain things, for safety sake.

i like separation on exit,
as i can not
'launch' off like any other with use of legs.
i end up falling off.
which puts me closer to a head down orientation then i prefer to start with.

hanging from a platform (as getting down the bridge is a difficult option for a paralyzed 'leg less' gimp,)
is a good way to start off in a nice orientation, wether its a PCA, or a few sec. delay jump. Either way, it's a safe way for a gimp to start bridges.

This will be my 1xt bridge.
and 13thBASE jump.

novice in all aspects.

skydives, less then 300, BASE, 13th and 1st Bridge on this trip.

yah,
i like separation from my objects.
the anal OCD'ish jumper that I am.

It's ok, it seems the platform is intact, and possibly available.

boat service, now i must admit, i need help with someone bringing my wheelchair closer to where I will be getting in it, to get out of there.

UNLESS folks will be willing to help me up, in exchange for Patron of your choice (oh shit, did I limit the choices,? ok your choice of mind altering substances at end of the day).

It's awesome to get a boat ride, and a pick up out of the river, but it's to a shore from where i need to get to

a) a place to exchange my canopies, to try this again that day, or to get to my wheelchair in general, and get out of there... i hope to not spend the rest of the time at the bottom... on landing area.

so--yah, thanks for those whove stepped up tp give a hand, and if others would like to be a part of those things mentioned, then please PM me, so we can figure out ho would want to do what with me, and for what Sly, when it comes down to it.

it's awesome to be there, to jump, have a place to stay, and pack.. and some transportation wont be impossible with taxi-but the back and forth between bridge and hotel room is costly enough i'd like to have to do it only twice in a day.

... having said that, and the aspiration for two jumps, i wont be ab,e to achieve it, without some help.

since here, I jump with one buddy, and he gets my chair to me once I land, grabs the gear stuffs it, helps push me out of there and we drive away....

its different situation for me there.

i wont have him... thus technically no one..except those who are willing to give a hand in one part or another.

i got two canopies, can switch them between same wet container, better then nothing,
or try to get two containers, (best option).

regardless, my packing space, at the hotel is great, and useful at end of the day-

anyways, there are different things, some small details while others more physically demanding help.

keep on sending me PM's if your willing to give a helping hand, and what your preference is, if you do.

thanks/

Re: WHAT HAPPENED... MY ROOM MATE WENT IN
I wrote about it once, somewhere, when it hapened.

my room mate Dave Odigon was 4 days away from coming home from his several month long trip to pack at Lodi and to work on some BASE skills with a VERY experienced mentor.
He was ground launching, and crashed into a rivene.

this is the only 'public' discussion about it.

http://www.dropzone.com/...;;page=unread#unread

i agree=there is not enough info on his gear, what he was using, told to anyone as this is a matter of sensitive issue to the DZ where he worked all this time (as you can see in the articles).

He was to get a set of my BASE gear sent to him, so he can meet me at Twin, but I needed to go to hospital, for an injured hand (and pneumonia) on the day prior to leaving for twin (luckily hotel gave my money back).
So i was in hospital until the day Dave went in

I came home at 7pm, and he was gone just around that time in Cali.

im still in sort of a chock over this, as i now have a house full of his belongings and I need to help get ride of it all.
My landlord is pissed at me, for letting his family get his personall belongings, (computer with his photos and movies, and his diving gear, as well as some other small items of sentimental value.)

landlord says he will sue me for letting family take those things, as Dave owed him rent money and my landlords idea was to hold it all ramsom so he can get his money.

sick i htink.
which is why i refused to stop the family, infact i contacted the family to come ASAP as landlord was coming in a few hours to put a lock on his bedroom door.

by helping his family get that stuff, my landlord has decided to try to sue me for the 'loss' of his collateral, by wanting ALL of Dave's back pay in rent (3 grand! he owes the landlord0

anyways, i am going to post a technical question about a launch pad i made for myself to get selperation, would like some feed back on it prior to using it again.
