I am somewhat new to the sport and am ordering a FLiK Lite 280, Im not sure what type of container to get. I know i want velcro, but i'm not sure what the best brand would be. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated

be warned, most people will suggest to you the equipment they jump. plus most brands should work fine for a beginner doing newbie stuff.

if you get an Apex parachute, I'd suggest getting an Apex rig. it should be the most compatible. also, many people eventually need work done on their rigs. single manufacturer means simpler considerations.

I wonder why you want a velcro rig... (pin rigs have been more popular for awhile.)

your call.

my previous jumps have been on a velcro container, it just seems easier until i get the hang of everything. Thanks everyone for the input

There's nothing hard about a pin container. Unless your IQ is under 60, it will take you 2 tries to learn how to close it.

Velcro is fine as long as :
you don't mind low resale value of your brand new container.
you don't mind getting funny looks from other jumpers (skip this step if you are over 50)
you join the Facebook group "I still jump a velcro rig"
you don't mind having to constantly watch the grip degrade, and have to spend the last 10-20 jumps on the old velcro always being afraid to flex your back.

as far as the brand - whichever one looks good to you, of course. All of the current manufacturer make very solid products that you are not very likely to die under due to the build.

Most important advice I can give you is to make sure it looks good. All black or lots of tyedye. This way you can blend with other jumpers at Perrine.

exactly!

it appears you chose velcro because that is all you know. most people will suggest a certain rig because it is all they know.

none of this seems to offer customized advice for YOU. we don't know your strengths, weaknesses, etc.
