The facebook page thing is tricky issue. If one does create one on a site without millions of posts, like a small community like BJ, the problem is people migrate from the actual site to the FB page and you end up losing the quality of the main site.
I've been involved with the online promotion of a site through facebook and it generates a lot of traffic to the site, but as for the forums- since it's easier for people to make posts on facebook they just use the FB discussion board and the site forums become less active, which is obviously a bad thing..
And with that... my eyes are seeing my surroundings like I'm looking through a circular fisheye lens- which I'm sure isn't healthy so I'm out.
