Anyone know the story and jumpers behind this?

Without site naming, i plan on heading there this week.

 
Pretty sure it was Robin Heid. Someone might remember the thread, it has been discussed here. I've seen other pictures of it too, probably no video though.

I saw pictures as of 2007 still about and functioning.

The place is still active to the best of my knowledge. Gonna do some more research.

I also just found the video of Robin jumping it, excellent stuff.

Hopefully the man chimes in and tells us how it went after he landed, looks like the law were all over the place.

reminds me of my infancy. skydive rig, 4-6 inch closing loops to accomodate freepak, canopy and shit hanging out the sides of the container. fun fun!

Saw your note. Actually, they took down the entire 1100-foot stack some years back, and replaced it with one or two smaller stacks, both of whcih have sulphur dioxide scrubbers on them (which is what Greenpeace wanted).

That other stack in the picture is 500-600 feet and is part of the ******* nuclear reprocessing plant.

I though he was mistaken but I didn't want to get into an argument with him.
