osp terminal
has anyone taken their OSP to terminal airspeeds? i know it is not "recommended", but i was wondering how many have gone terminal as a once in a while thing with an OSP.

reason i ask is that when mine ships, i will definitely want to throw it in a skydive rig, so i can play with inputs and find the stall and sink points, brakes, etc.

im not sure if my dropzone does hop n pops, so i can either a. hop n pop at altitude, or just take it down to 5k or so and deploy.

i have never deployed a base canopy with a large mesh slider in a skydive environment, so what techniuqes would you use when packing it in a skydive rig? just simply roll the nose cells and brace for an uncomfortable opening?

Re: [UberChris] osp terminal
Call me crazy, but i tend to go with what the manufacturers say.

Why not just climb a big tower, do a short delay and play forever. Job done.

Re: [PikeyBASE] osp terminal
I was there when my buddy got an OSP in a loaner rig for his first terminal jumps...straight from the manufacturer. Apparently it's not that big a deal.
I've only ever done hop&pops and wingsuit skydives with BASE canopies and I don't see what the big deal is with that, either. It opens faster, sure, but I've experienced far more painful openings on regular skydiving gear.

Re: [jerry81] osp terminal
u can do the terminal , just make sure to have slider set it up, not down or without slider. you may expect bit faster opening . that is all.

Re: [UberChris] osp terminal
Only a few times - used large mesh, rolled nose and tapegate - same as I pack the Troll for terminal. Openings were similar to the troll. Probably a good idea to take 8 secs on the first one to see how that works out!!
