ok just to clarify. NOT a base jumper yet. planning on it though( havent been able to shoake the feeling for the last 2 yrs). not for awhile tho cos iv only got 70 jumps aprox. in university at the moment. but hoping to get into base by the end of next yr. hard work i know. maybe an america trip to a major dz like elisnore.
but im thinking of going on a 5 to7 yr trip around the world. working when needed as a medical physict in hospitals if any body asks where ever i stop. and hope fully already doing base b4 i start. where wud u travel through out europe. im thinking france ten making my way evenutally to italy with everything in between. yes swiss, spain,germany... then to norway wen tracking good. then find a job and once money go off to america and do a tour around there. again working in hospitals for a few months untill iv got d money. Anybody doing a base trip or has done something like that before? d only reason im thinking of planning it now(well inital idea slash route in my head) is bcos i belive if u come prepared it will make it easier to acomplish.. right?? looking for as much feedback as possible. be realistic as possible please and show no mercy. im thinking of buying a van and putting a matress in d back so free accomadation. also how easy is it (really to get to jump with locals) cos im sure its a lot harder than just giving them 1 or 2 emails over this site. am i wrong? Doing this solo wud prob b really lonely. wud it not be so bad if u met up with locals d hole time. ? this plan is in its infancy so dont get pissed off if i seem to know nothing. but their does not seem to be that many forms about this type of thing or maybe im looking in the wrong place. like i said earlier on the more posts the better. thanks in advance.

I know exactly how you feel. It all seems so huge and unknown. The journey IS the fun part. The friends and the people WILL be there when you get there. You WILL get there! As long as you never shake that butterfly feeling in your chest whenever you think of jumping, it will happen. The van will be there, the mattress, all of the cliffs in Europe. It will happen for you. Just do it and enjoy the adventure! don't think too much. just do. live for it. whatever your dreams are.

What are you after, big walls, or low stuff, or everything?

If you're after big walls it'd probably make sense to hit the easily accessible spots first, Norway (Kjerag) or Italy (ITW), then once you've got some good tracking skills (or wingsuit skills) go to Swiss (LB Valley) or central Norway, trying to make loads of contacts while you're doing that who can show you the big walls outside of those spots


A lot of places do have locals who will be more than happy to show you around thair cities if you ask nicely, even just by email. Then once you've done that a few times, you'll quickly start to pick up mutual friends, introductions, contacts etc. that will open up more places for you.

Step 1. do well in medical school
Step 2. learn to land a parachute skydiving
Step 3. learn to BASE jump
Step 4. get a good medical job
Step 5. plan your trip THEN


Keep in mind if you do well in university then you might
be able to fly and stay in the Super 8, if you fail out due
to not being able to communicate then the budget route
of van, mattress, spam, and ramen noodle is for you

yeah im good at uni. do as good as the amount of work i put in to it like anybody else.

Yeah was thinking of working for a yr first and saving the money first. will av to do that anyway so i can get the van. super8?

Not a chick if thats what you were thinking. Was laughing at green machines responce because i thought it was funny. Not agreeing with him. Not from the states dude, doubt you know me or any of my family. but you got my age pretty close. Yeah I got to stop drinking. or at least drink less.
