So far it's not looking very plentiful:( First I find out the only DZ down there is pretty much a tandem factory so might as well leave the sky rig at home. Now I find out there is hardly anything there to base. Urgh. And here I thought I was taking a "vacation"
I better stay a few days in Dallas/Ft Worth on the way back to the frozen tundra.

Actually, the guys at http://www.skydive.com.mx/ are quite nice... I brought my sky rig with me when I went there for a vacation, and it was an awesome jump (10k out of a Cessna, exit over the ocean and awesome visuals)... LZ is on the beach and quite tight (for the sky divers that is... it should be no problem for a BASE dude). Bring your log with you (sky), as they will check it (of course that you need your B at the minimum)... after landing, you can literally walk to Senior Frog and have a 'rita

That's what I thought too! I was all pumped for the view and gonna bring my rig with, then I read the reviews from the non-tandem jumpers on dz.com. So after reading through the bloodbath of hate, I decided to send them an email.
Well, here's the response I got:

Unfortunately I dont have 500 jumps, so yeah bummer

 

Sounds legit. A buddy of mine was just down there jumping and said there were a lot of killer objects, including a 2k A with a working elevator.
I'll def let you know if I end up staying in dfw on the way back. If I do it would be the 11-13 or 14th
