if it can be discussed without site naming (both objects and people), I'd prefer it NOT to be silent.
people across the US (and perhaps elsewhere) have an opportunity to realize how fragile these "ecosystems" can be. maybe they'll see the benefits of cooperation. it's all cool and groovy to constantly remind people to "contact the locals," and "respect the established guidelines." many prefer to view it as a clique thing, think FU, and jump as they please. getting people to witness the ugly fallout MIGHT cause people to pause, stop, and think.
the same thing happened a state or two away last year(?). suddenly, people wanted to keep everything hush-hush. why? ('course the presumes you can disagree in a civil fashion.)
a year or two back there were plenty of ugly posts regarding that area. now there are more. I fail to see how silence will make it better. I'm betting many jumpers from outside your area think they know those objects and feel free to jump them. silence may not change their behavior...
