Europe Jun-Jul
It looks like I'm going to be able to take 2 weeks off to hang around Europe at the end of June/start July and was wondering where's good to try get some jumps in at that time of year.

Most of my jumps have been slider down (15-20 out of my 83 have be S/U and in the 4-6 sec range). I've done a little bit of underhung/bulgy stuff here in Australia, but not nearly enough to say I'm an above average tracker.

So, what's good out there?

Thanks

BJ

ITW, Kjerag

kjerag is nice and beautiful.. if you want to get some experience and do many jumps a day.. go to lauterbrunnen, swiss.. become a sba member at the horner pub, find friends, start at the yellow ocean site of the valley.. work on your tracking.. then the other side of the valley. have fun! jump safe

ITW is a perfect bigwall and the weather is "generaly" better than Kjerag but you need two cars (it's better) the hike is shorter and easier than kjerag, italy is cheaper than norway too...
The swiss valley is just 5h driving from ITW... So make a couple of jumps at ITW than you go to the valley... Trip++ Sly

Is there an easy way of hooking up with other jumpers around ITW? A pub where everyone goes or something?

Italian locals may usually be found at the cafe/bar on the road.

Hey!

I probably won't be able to hang around that long. I'm think I'm flying back to Oz from London around 12 July and really want to take in a few places. Bummer we just miss each other.

At this stage I'm thinking Kjerag for 4-5 days from 26 June to get my track really solid and then head down to LB and then ITW before heading back to the UK to fly home.

Speaking of London, I'm going to be out at Shrivenham from the start of May to late June if there's any UK jumpers out there.

4-5 days doesnt give you much time In Norway, and you will spend more than 4 travelling days inside Europe to get there and out again. So when you first are going to Kjerag, why not just stay put, and organize yourselves with food, etc.

To learn and became an confident tracker, Kjerag is one of the best places to go in the world if not the best.

Yeah for sure dude! If you end up down round Sydney, make sure you give us a yell.

Yeah, good point. I wasn't really sure what travel times between places are like and I'm trying to find the happy balance of getting a heap of jumping and learning in vs getting to see as much of Europe as I can. Hmmm decisions Crazy

It's a few weeks until I head off so I'm weighing up my jumping options and thinking 4-5 days in a couple places might not be as useful as just hanging out in the 1 place for 2 weeks.

So, if you could be jumping anywhere in Europe for 2 weeks (26 Jun - 07 Jul), where would people go? I'm not up to wingsuiting if that makes a difference to people's suggestions. Cheers!

This question has been probably discussed here about million times but lets run this through one more time. First question obivously is what are you looking for to jump? The place you should go kind of depends wether you are looking for urban low jumps or terminal cliff jumps. I assume here that you want to jump terminal cliff jumps. Based on your profile you have 87 jumps and you sadi you are not wingsuiting. I assume from those facts that you do not have that much experience in big wall jumping. Based on that, take those two weeks and go to Norway. For example Kjerag is exellent place to learn the skills needed in big wall jumping and it is very beautiful place to jump. That will also help you to build the skills you need for your further adventures here next time you are around.
