What ankle supports should i buy
I did a few searches and found out that a few jumpers are wearing swedo ankle supports to protect their ankles on jumps but what model is the best? When i do start jumping the mountains some jumps can have a 1 hour walk out. Thanks guys

Re: [mrbiceps] What ankle supports should i buy
i use a merrill ankle support very much like the "original swede-o" just a lace up. I bought them at walmart for under $15 a piece.... those and my work boots and i've piled into hillsides on my rear risers so hard i knocked the wind out of myself, but i've yet to roll an ankle. I jump frequently without pads or a helmet but never without those braces.

i put them on at the top and remove them before a long hike out. I have climbed with them and made a run a for it as well with out any noticeable drawbacks.

hey biceps

if you are interested in jumping in aussie land you should ask alot of questions on the aussie forum that way you will talk with jumpers that jump in our countries conditions and also with jumpers that may be on the exit with you in da mountains, also a great way to work up a relationship in the tough aussie environment.

but your mentor should also be teaching you that..

Have you got one now??????

Yeah "Biceps", but there is an alternative. You could go overseas and do a course and 30 jumps and come back and not need a mentor, go to a site, and be defeated by simple climbing problem that you would have been prepared for if you had of taken your own advise........ Now what are the odds of that happening.......

The internet is his mentor, silly.
Why else would this guy ask every question that he has here....

Hey mate in terms of ankle supports I use Crispi Paragliding boots. I prefer them over simple ankle supports and trainers or smaller boots because of the extra protection from sharp rocks etc. It's also good because the higher boots tend to come all the way up to the shin/knee pads and not leave a gap on your shin. There are also Hanwags but I've run into lots of people that find them too stiff to walk long distances in. The Crispi's once broken in are pretty comfy.
