Funny thing is that If he does make the jump, It'll most likeley go just fine (esp. w/ a PCA). Then we'll have all sorts of newbies who realize how "easy" BASE jumping is and how little training you actually need to do it successfuly. . .

Yes. Cash is king. Almost always. Welcome to life, not BASE jumping. There is no governing body in BASE to say who is qualified to learn OR qualified to teach. You just do what you can do to make BASE in to as dangerous as you want it to be. I used to enjoy Vegas a lot more w/o the macho ultimate fighting WANNABEES. The guys who step in the ring I do respect. Because of this STUNT (which it is in ALL sense of the word) x Youtube and we may soon be seeing canopies haphazardly flown through the air emblazed in Affliction or Tapout logos. Its going to be AWESOME. They may even attempt to posture like they are fighting IN THE AIR!!

I have a friend named Mikel Bronzoulis who is 8 W - 1 L in MMA. He says what I do is crazy and I tell him what he does is crazy. Mutual respect, it's amazing from such an amazing athlete.

Vegas hardly has a local scene. A few here and there but no tight groups going hard. If this "stunt" actually happens, it's essentially the same as Travis and crew jumping the **** Hotel/Casino or the RB dudes jumping the ****Hotel/Casino for the introduction of RB Cola. Vegas is built for public attractions just like this. Why do you think Jeb has chosen Sin City for his "stunt"?

What is not good about it? Sure if he goes in then once again BASE gets bad PR (like Jan Davis) but what the hell else is new? That certainly has not and will not stop jumping. If he lives and all goes well, it may do the sport some good (positive PR)!!

This will be just one more clip thrown up on Youboob for people to check out. Add another to the growing list.

In those cases the people performing the stunt were BASE jumpers. Some people say "That was awesome, I want to do that!" I assume the average person cannot really relate to an unknown BASE jumper. Most probably understand it takes a lot to get to the point of jumping. White however has a different celebrity and power amongst the masses. He is on his own TV shows and promoting fights. They know him. He's not an active fighter, he is more like the average fan than anyone else in this conversation, and there fore wannabees may be able to think "Dana white did it, I can do it."

Sure IF he does it great, good for him, marginal at best for us. If he dies or hurt, really bad for him, bad for us.

And this is a building, with a huge crowd. PRESSURE. I just think this is a bad idea stemmed from an off handed hope that he will bring in enough viewers so his great great grand kids will have trust funds.

Either way, Dana is showing some balls regardless, and kudos to him. Maybe, just maybe, in some of the larger arenas where base takes place, there will be an accuracy contest into the center of the octagon. Off dead center, and an arm bar or leg lock is the loser's fate.
