a show on PBS had biblical scholars and such stating how archeology has reveal information about Jesus that seems to contradict "standard" perception. it makes one wonder what else might not be quite so...

Who's "They"? All the people who are blinded by their faith for Jesus? How about some objective analysis. From what I have seen, it's pretty unlikely that a person named "jesus" ever existed. Especially the whole virgin birth, rising from the grave part...
Not saying that a "God" or "Gods" for that matter don't exist, just that christianity, or any other religion some how is the one and only true religion and their god is the true spiritual dictator, is pretty unlikely given the complexity of the universe, which in the grand scheme of things we know almost nothing about.

You would be hard pressed to find many historians that would argue that the Jesus of the Bible never existed. Many people named Jesus definitely existed, as it was a popular name before the famous Jesus of Nazareth came along. As far as all the miraculous supernatural stuff, as I've gotten older and experienced, been exposed to more, I don't know anymore.

Haha, I used to be a hardcore Christian, even got a degree in youth ministry. I am now a recovering Christian. The fact still remains though that there was once a man named Jesus who caused a huge stir which is still going.

Well here's my 5 cents... as my sister is a minister and i used to tell my parents that church parties on the weekend did not include drugs, booze and sex (got away with it until the cops showed up with me one night)
me and my sister have always argued about "who has killed more people" Satan or God.

and instead of "god bless you" say, " I bless you" goes down great with the hard core suckers!
