I was hoping someone with prior knowledge on the sport of ski base could answer a few questions for me. im a complete "virgin base jumper" i just would like to get more knowledge on the sport that looks so fun and combines two of my favorite sports (skydiving and skiing). Im not looking to get into it right away but hopefully someday it could be a big part of my life. I am naive and would just like to more or less "shoot the shit" with someone that is willing to teach someone and maybe pass along information that could be life changing.

Hey Will, not to sound like a dick but skibase does not combine skydiving with anything. If you think it has something to do with skydiving because you saw Miles skydive with skis in Radix, your skibase endeavours might turn out to be a life-ending experience. It definately is not as easy as it seems in the footage you've seen.

I snowboard and base jump, but do not know jack about skibase and I think I've seen enough of it in good ways and bad, that I think its not for me.

But I'd say if you're a very good skier and a very good base jumper, and you have a suitable spot, and you're insane enough, hell, give it a go.

purchase base jumping lessons first

start with BASE jumping. if it's for you you'll know and can progress from there. as you meet more jumpers and if your a solid enough skier, ski BASE will find you.

or show up with $1,000 (for our crew that gets the local jump ready) and a waiver saying your family won't sue and we'll see what happens!

Do what I did. Just watch this video at least a hundred times until it seems like a good idea, and then go ski off something epic!

dont worrie about that 1000 dollars. i have an extra rig and skis come on down. i will through you off loose cannon style.

I think SnowbladeBASE is going to be the next big thing.

SLAMBO did a snowlerblade base fronty flip. It was a beauty. Oddly though, it never really picked up.

Probably cause they're getting to be hard to find. There's always the monoski.

Shane did a mono ski base jump. It went terribly.

when i first saw that shot i figured it was you, because no way cliff would have such a poopy jump. but it was him!

classic shane, miss you fucker.

that was odd. I thought for sure I was re-writing the future after that jump.
