Darrell will be missed. I will always remember him fixing up my pilot chute and checking my pins on my first several base jumps. Rip my friend.

darrell, you touched so may lives, one of them mine. i remember that no wind day when i first came back to jumping, we were laughing at the landings and i considered pulling off the load. you told me i could do it..."you always land in the peas". i did it but haven't landed in the peas since : P. i love you my brother and will miss you terribly.

I'm glad I got to go on one last ride with you Darrell. Damn it, one of the good ones for sure. He was always a pleasure to jump with, I am really going to miss him.

Does anyone know if this had been jumped before or was there any kind of malfunction that caused this or what? The reports don't give much info.

How close are the power lines to the primary lz and any alternates? Why did he end up there?

If anyone can PM me details it would be nice. I've been friends with Darrell in San Antonio for several years and would like to know what really happened. I've done many free fly jumps with Darrell and kind of came up through the ranks with him. There are rumors about what happened but no first hand info.

Darrell I'll never forget the few jumps we made together, you will always be an awesome dude! Those nights in south Texas are my favorite memories no question. I'm sorry it ended so soon-- we're all jealous you left doing something you loved. BSBD -Ben
