Username "redbush" fraudulantly obtained my 2-pin Odyssey FX rig. Paid by PayPal that BOUNCED 4 times, then he disappeared entirely. Here is the ad he bought it from:

My bad for TRUSTING him and shipping before payment was finalized - I had always been able to trust guys in the BASE community - no more!

He also has a stolen FOX 265 with it, and may be jumping in Europe. Last known address was in Scotland. Alias is "Sean White," and says he works on offshore oil rigs.

REWARD of $US200 for information leading to the ARREST of this FELON. If anyone sees this "person" with this rig, just know who you are dealing with.

You might want to post this on the UK forum if the guy is from 'scotland' as he may well try to re-sell the rig there.

They might try and sell it to a up and coming jumper at a dropzone. Im sure it would not hurt to put up something about it on www.dropzone.com just incase some skydiver knows some guy boasting about that rig at a dropzone? You never know what you might find. I could be wrong, hate people who steal things, its so low. Good luck btw.

I don't know the guy but I sent him a message on Facebook, telling him that it's a "Very Small Community" to be screwing people.

I'm sure some where around the world he will get whats coming to him if he thinks he can pull this off.

Spoke extensively with the Scottish police. They are VERY interested in the case - they think it puts Scotland in a bad light to have criminal activity in their small town. We'll see!

Another thing you can do is call each of the Scottish DZ's. There's only a relatively small number I expect. Speak to the DZ and tell them this guy is a thief and that they don't want him around.

Perhaps coincidence rather than connection, but I spoke to a basejumper at Perrine a couple of months ago. Said he was from Australia, living in Scotland, and workilng on an oil rig off South Africa.

Is it possible he is off shore at he moment and might not have internet connection?
I dont work off shore but I do work away for home a lot and as such do not always enjoy internet connection.

Paypal sometimes reverses transactions several days after they have already credited them to your account. It's happened to me several times with international transactions. In one case I was physically with the person trying to pay me and saw everything he did. Paypal just decided the transaction was too suspicious to be real, and reversed it without contacting either of us (but of course, three days later). We had to re-do the transaction via traditional banks.

Yeah, PayPal has been burned from time to time, so they're careful, but in this case, he totally dropped out of sight and refused to make any alternate payment arrangements of any type, although help was offered multiple times.

Just a common thief among us. Fortunately, a VERY small minority, as most BASE jumpers are more than honorable.

hi there im just checking my bank details now to see if the payment went out why would i steal somthing and have it sent to were i live with all my details iv got my laptop back so im on to it now i will check out my bank statments at the house and sort it and i will throw some extra cash in for the inconvenice i thourtgh it was all settled cause i had no email from pay pal to tell me other wise.sorry for the this im on to it now so dont worry i never tried to steal nothing u got my address and phone number so it wasnt like did it on perpose once again sorry .....and my girl freind use this account so please watch the swearing on my fb cause its her thats getting to see this not me.....sean white

and yes, if someone pays for something with a credit card and then paypal send the payment to the sellers account, if the buyer then says they didnt recieve the goods even 4 weeks later, Paypal will steal the money back out of teh sellers account and or /leave them in a world of shit.

Paypal aer scum and I refuse to use them having been on the bad end of them once before.

Direct bank transfers are the way forward IMO.

... and Pay PAL is truly your Pay ENEMY...... they'll cause you some nasty problems if you're not aware....

The worst kind being an undeserved 'tar n feathering' from someone who thinks you've ripped them off.

I agree that PayPal can truly SUCK sometimes, I wouldn't say that any "tar and feathering" is undeserved - One who accepts goods then REFUSES to pay for them - or even COMMUNICATE - in any way with the seller is truly dishonorable. PayPal not withstanding, this is the case here.
