That REALLY looked like it hurt. trying to outfly rooftops can be a real gamble. I tried it once with mixed results at the Petronas Towers. But mine didn't end as bad as Ueli's.

There is a second video from a different POV and it shows him hit the smaller building.

It just shows that everybody, puppy to expert to thrill seeker can get hurt or get into trouble.... (which of course can be no news). Jimmy, Valery, Jeb, Uelli, and that within 10 days or so.

Really shitty video, and I am not talking about hitting the roof, but the landing. Landing flat on a concrete street can damage a lot.

The current news articles say Ueli is fighting for his life. The injuries are "much worse" than assumed yesterday, doctors say "his state is critical" and his injuries are considered "life-threatening".

I am sending all my best vibes and wishes to Ueli and I hope he will recover soon and fast!

I cannot read German (anymore). What are the nature of his injuries?

Previous articles mentioned a broken pelvis and elbow. But these latest reports don't say what is causing his condition to be life threatening.

Things can really get wrong. Do any one know what kind of injurys he suffered from? I could only see that he hurt his pelvis. Any head injurys or internal injurys.

This is really sad. Im going to miss you a lot my dear friend.

If only half of us were only half as kind / generous / sharing / straight up / skilled as Ueli was, it'd be a much better world. At least it would be a better sport.

Ueli was an inspiration, a friend, a very nice, friendly and helping person to everybody who knew him.
Ueli was one of the pioneers in BASE Jumping and BASE jumping in Switzerland would not be what it is today (legal and accepted) without him.

I'm out of words as well... Unimaginable loss to us all, when I wrote couple of days ago that I'm looking forward to see Ueli again at the exit point I truly believed that I will see him there. Now it just starts to hit that actually he wont be there anymore. Ueli was a legend, pioneer and skilled jumper but most of all kind and respectful person and a great friend. A true gentleman and a true embassador for the sport.

I knew Ueli from the time he started skydiving after coming from Paragliding. That was just short of 20 years ago. He was a top bloke and a true friend. I am in tears. RIP Ueli, RIP

Terribly, terribly sad.

Many of us have lost a friend. All of us have lost a tremendous BASE ambassador. Most of us have probably enjoyed (or will at some point enjoy) the amazing, legal BASE jumping here in Switzerland. As Michi said, we owe Ueli a great deal for this.

shit! i remember the WS jumps we did at perris a while back. I didnt know: "who you were" at the time we jumped (even with the RedBull stuff all over). you just saw me with a wingsuit and said you wanna jump? not caring who I "wasn't."

The memorial ceremony will be held Saturday 21st November 14.00 in the Reformierte Kirche in Speicher AR.

If someone from another Country would like to attend, book a flight to Zurich airport, arriving Saturday morning.

Ueli and I were due to speak at a similar event in Zurich next month. He was going to give a talk like that TED Conference one, and I was then going to talk about my PhD research into powered wingsuits.

The organizers of the event would still like me to speak, but as you can imagine, I'm going to feel very lonely on stage. Ueli was a legend, and it won't be possible for anyone (especially not me) to fill his shoes. So I would like to begin my talk with a tribute to him, and since I shoot and edit video semi-professionally, I thought I could do this with the help of a tribute video.

been jumping several years ago with him in Perris. at night in Bomb shelter he told me all secrets flying WS and low jumping... he is very cautious man, hope you sense what i mean.. now i'm certified aircraft pilot and simultaneously - unlawful jumper. and also 2m height.. same bike.. i still believe this is right way to to find oneself. but.. Ueli.. U let me know beforehand twice about sub300 jumps..and another again...and another... RIP

Does anyone have any information on the relative heights of the buildings or if it had been jumped before? It would be nice to know led to the death of one of our best. RIP Ueli, good to meet you in the valley.

the building he jumped is 88 meters.
the building below he striked is around 20 meters.

One of the few that actually managed to jump with his both feet on the ground ... I will miss you, you set an example for all of us.
