Re: [gradyriddle] I've never jumped
I said this to another newbie about a month ago.
"Hello. Good start. Enjoy skydiving and learn as much as you can in that environment. Check out http://www.dropzone.com. If you desire to BASE this will be the best path. It takes time, patience, and strong fundamental skills that are best learned falling out of an airplane. Feel free to look around this site, but watch out. Ask a Q that is answered already a million times over without doing any searches or reading the articles that are visible to everyone, and you will be eaten alive by these fun loving vicious cool as hell (some) dickheads that are really looking out for the sport, you and themselves."
Its good to have goals, and while your dream IS attainable you need to know if your not ready when that date comes around YOU need to know that and dont jump. I would recommend after you bust out a bunch of skydives and you are still feeling pull to BASE go to Twin Falls Idaho and take a FJC. Bridge day is hectic, TF is relaxed, which I believe is a superior training environment.
