im trying to figure out a good first rig... almost all of my friends have an apex or p pro, so i dont have the opportunity to try out many rigs. i am looking for a low profile natural feel that can transfer over to wingsuit as well as terminal and sub jumps. what is every ones opinions as to what the best all round rig is and why??? i have been looking at the ZAK 2, the P PRO, the APEX dp, and the GLH PARAGON... anything i dont know about though would be appreciated! i am beginner so i dont need anything that would complicate my learning curve, but im not turned off by having to work a little harder and nailing in good pack jobs.

hahaha. Let me be the first one to tell you that the best rig is <insert name of gear that I own>.

Realistically if you are a beginner, you can just start with beginner gear. No such thing as a bad container produced currently. ZAK is not too common to see in the US, but you may also want to check out the Helium/Gargoyle whereas He is exactly what you describe. All other brands you describe are very nice and solid containers as well.

Bottom line is that anything that you get which is more or less recent and mass produced will be a good container for ya.

im not trying to be harsh so if comes off that way please exuse my tone. i'm still drunk.

theres not a lot still produced that isnt a good option. were doing something very unnatural, so quite frankly you're looking for something that will be extremely difficult to find. i personally take security over comfort any day. my first rig had no articulation and i loved it.

as for transferring to WS base, that in and of itself will complicate your learning curve. you should have enough time getting experience before trying anything involving a wingsuit to deal with getting a more well suited rig for WS. choose whatever you can get right now that you like.

yeah thats what i have been thinking, about them all being really the same, its always been that way with kayaks and what not too... they are all high quality it just depends on what ones look you like the best. and dont worry, i have read just about everything out there and been ground crewing quite heavily for about a year now.

as far as going with safety first i totally agree, but i have a weird mind and if i feel comfortable i do things much better/safer as i have more attention to focus on the more important stuff, for example it takes me months to find a helmet that works for boating... its stupid i know but i know how my complexes work lol! thanks for your guys help and ill see ya out there! as far as wingsuit, that will be when it comes, but i dont have a lot of money to spend on multiple rigs so i am trying to cover the board for future use along with current needs if possible.
