In all seriousness, and i'll avoid using the usual derrogatory nomenclature here because this is an honest question, but are there any "african american" basejumpers? this stems from a conversation we were having this past weekend. I have never seen one in person, or in any video footage.

should we institute an affirmative action plan for basejumping, whereby we make allowances for those less qualified to perform tasks based on a desire for ethnic diversity within our sport?

I can confirm that there was at least one African Canadian BASE jumper at BD. But he looks a bit scruffy and pale.

I have seen a total of 2 Indian and 1 Black BASE jumpers.
I have seen no more than 2 Black Skydivers ever and out
of mt 1,000 tandems very few have been Black or Indian.

If you buy into the genetic predisposition thing then white
people and especially ones with blue eyes are more likely
to be jumpers due to our brain chemistry.

in the movie "Adrenaline Rush" this is discussed plus a
chick I used to shag a dozen years ago ended up being
a skydiver and did her dissertation on this subject.

maybe they don't trust the man enough to be student skydivers and hence BASE jumpers. I saw a bunch of black student skydivers at Atlanta Skydiving Center recently. I thought it was cool.

I think this is a dude I met at Bridge Day. He was very tall and looked like a northeast African, almost a bit middle eastern. Maybe from Tunisia.

They don't do extreme sports cause being black is extreme enough.
